Romano would yawn as he woke up in the morning, blinking a few times as he rolled over and checked his phone, only to blink in surprise to realize his case load had gone from nothing after his court date, to almost triple what he usually got, most clients begging him to fix their problems. It seems that Dimitri had been working overtime to sweep away the dust and problems without even being asked...
"Well that's a pleasant surprise" he said with a kind smile, chuckling a little. "Seems that the people have moved on to the newest thing. Hell, a few people that're begging me for casework even stated it makes me look more like a person instead of some suit..."
"Well that's good" yawned Abney, blinking a few times. "Wait so does that mean your records are clear and you don't have to worry about being arrested again?"
"I wouldn't chance it, I may live near the school, but that's still a death sentence if I chance it... besides, my registry name is flawed anyways" Romano laughs. "Somehow I'm registered as Romano Kag, do you know a Kag, because I'd like to know them"
"Oh boy... you know someone is gonna bitch about that right?" said Abney, walking over to Romano's bed before hugging him. "Thank you..." he whispered, before shoving him backward and pinning him to the bed.
"Agh!?" squeaked Romano, then glared up at his brother. "Abneeeeyy... Remember temporal law..." he growled.
Abney just smirked. "Awww, but here I thought you'd enjoy having me on top" he chuckles, tails dancing about behind himself.
Romano then used his hinds to gently kick Abney across the room back onto his bed. "I'd rather not risk that curse getting us BOTH arrested, mister highschooler" he snorts, sweeping himself down. "Also, you're shedding... gross..."
Abney laughs softly before smiling. "Well I guess you're right" he chirrs, then cuddles back up with his Delphox plushie. "So anyone wanna explain what these things are?" he asked, eyeing the Delphox plushie. "Rosa gave me one and I... have yet to figure them out"
-
"I hate, hate, HATE going to school..." pouted Abney as he stepped out of his parent's house, walking down the street toward Rowanbranch, being stalked the whole way by his life-mate, Rosarisi, who he was honestly surprised to not be affected by the curse they shared alongside him, then again, she always did have a baby face... Walking into the main building, he sighed, putting away his bag for the time being in his locker, trying his best not to get squished by a werewolf, or something!
He would soon feel a cold nip nearby, only to be met by Vanessa sneaking up behind his locker door. She gave a soft chuckle once caught, "Hey Abney...hope you're feeling better." she said in her usual gentle tone. This was different, where was the other twin?
Abney flinched, then looked at Vanessa with a small smile. "Hi there!" he said with a soft chuckle. "Are you okay? Where's Vic?" he asked, tails wagging just a little.
Vanessa sighed, "I'm ok...she's in the parking lot flirting with some coyote. I wanted to apologize for my parents yesterday, could tell you where uncomfortable." she admitted with a slight blush.
He chuckled a little, then smiled. "It's fine... I uh, I guess you could say my past is scary at times" he said, then sat down and head tilted a little at her. "I could tell you that story but I don't think you'd believe me any"
"Try me." Van replied softly, "We can go grab breakfast in the cafeteria while you explain...I mean...uhh...if you don't mind, that is." she stammered.
"I don't mind one bit, in fact it is a welcome gift, because I didn't eat breakfast at home" he said with a meek smile, rubbing the back of his head with a paw, then chuckled as he walked toward the direction of the cafeteria. "I'll happily pay for the food for us, and your sister whenever she's done having a chat with her new friend"
The snow white Vulpix gave a short nod and followed. There weren't many students in this early in the morning, but there was a familiar face standing watch in the far corner, Mr. Jefferson. The Literature instructor smiled as the two walked in, but maintained his monitoring position for now as Vanessa grabbed a tray with her tail.
Abney would give a soft nod in the direction of the instructor, not saying much as he grabbed a trap with his tails as well, before moving down the line and gathering up some food for breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, jam, just something to keep himself fed and hungry, he followed this pile of food with two cups of orange juice added to his order, before paying for it at the end of the line, with Vanessa's added to his ticket as well. Once he got done with his pile up, he walked to the table and sat down, waiting for her to come on over and join him.
Vanessa got an omelet with some hashbrowns and a glass of chocolate milk, confirming she didn't have to pay this time before settling down next to him. She sipped her milk happily as her eggs cooled, listening to Abney with undivided attention, though she did get the odd feeling she was being watched every now and then.
Abney took a deep breath before giving a small smile to Vanessa. "I wanna preface this by saying yeah, I did warn you that you might not believe me, but what I say isn't made up or from a movie, even though it sounds it..." he clears his throat before continuing. "Firstly, my parents come from a place that is not of Earth, they called it New Eden and I don't exactly know what to make of it, but that wasn't the reason that I feared your Mom, no no no, it... was due to what someone in Cascadia did to me." he takes a moment to breathe before continuing. "Someone made a clone of me, which attacked me the moment it saw me, and... tried to eat me." he happily omits the fact he was raped by it, just for her own appetite. "I know it sounds made up, I know it sounds silly, but I am telling the truth... you can even ask Tod, as he's gonna be our biology class teacher again."
Vanessa blinked and remained quiet for a while before replying, "I believe you. Our parents were from New Eden too, and from the stories they have told us...well, my mom almost wasn't my mom. I learned a long time ago that there's a lot of darkness in the world. I'm just sad you had to go through that. I am curious about something though, how little were you? Me and Vicky are only ten...seems like you're not much older despite going through so much."
"I was six when it happened" he said, adjusting his story for his curse as he knew no one would believe that even if he was to tell someone, well, other than Tod... "So were you born on Earth like me and my brother and sister, or uh, were you born in New Eden?" he asked curiously. "I understand if ya don't wanna say, heh, I just am curious, is all"
"No, we were born in Germany." Vanessa replied as she began digging into her omelet, flinching slightly upon realizing her first bite had a chunk of jalapeno in it. She tried not to show her discomfort as she chased it with her milk.
Abney noted that she had gotten the spicy omelet before asking. "I take it you don't like spicy food?" he head tilts some at her.
Vanessa gulps, "Umm...it's fine, just didn't expect it is all." she chuckled before noticing the coyote from earlier bolt past the table. Uh-oh...where was Vic?
-
Outside, Victoria tried to talk herself out of doing something embarrassing, only to trip over her own tail and stumble right into the boy she was eying...Xavier.
Xavier's ears quirk as he hears the sound of someone tripping up, the coyfox stopping his singing for a moment to look over at Victoria. "Er, hi?" he said softly. "Need a paw to help there??" he offered.
If her coat didn't hide how much she was blushing, Victoria thought she was going to die right there. It took her a moment to realize he was ACTUALLY talking to Her. "Uhh...sure, thanks for the help. I'm so so so sorry!" she squeaked. Who's the shy sister now?
Xavier just chuckled some at her. "Sorry for what?" he asked with a kind smile, tail wagging just a bit as he helped her up. "Hi there, I'm Xavier Vlodovic, it is a true pleasure to meet you miss" he already knew her name by reading her mind, but didn't wanna seem creepy or out of place by saying it, he was curious though why she was in such a tizzie over him though, but didn't directly question it.
Victoria coughed slightly before pulling herself together, "I'm Victoria...and I was apologizing for almost crashing into you, guess I spaced out." she replied with a nervous chuckle, a tiny bit of smoke accompanying her next cough. Mentally she was going a mile a minute (Shoot he's never going to like me now! I look like a clumsy airhead...and he's so cute too, whyyyyy)
Xavier chuckled. "You're fine, no need to apologize for a simple mistake" he grinned, then sat on his haunches, he couldn't help but smile a bit at her thoughts being broadcasted so loud it was kind of silly. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you before, and now ya got me curious."
"Yeah, my family moved here last week. My sister and I just started school two days ago and are still trying to get adjusted to everything." Victoria informed him, calming down slightly upon seeing she hadn't scared him off.
Xavier nods. "Well, welcome to Aurora!" he grins, then steps just a little closer. "And welcome to school, I hope you've been enjoying yourself here" he then gets very, very close, just a paw step away from bumping right up against her, just to make her even more butterfly-in-stomach.
Victoria winced in surprise but tried to play it cool, "Thanks, I'm looking forward to the Biology class today. While my sister loves her books, I've always been a bit of a science nerd." she smiled.
Xavier just grinned at the Vulpix. "Hey what's that?" he asked, then planted a quick smooch on her cheek before running off without a word more. Figuring he just murdered her.
Steam erupted from the girls ears as she suppressed her shock and happiness. She couldn't speak, her voice squeaking when she tried. The only thing that got her to come back down to reality would be the first bell...no breakfast for her!
Abney noticed Xavier before smiling as he saw the coyfox buy two things of pop-tarts, before tearing into one of them. "Oh dear... is that the one she was talking to?" he asked quietly to Vanessa. Xavier ear perked at that, then gave a quiet wave to the two Vulpi that were sitting at the table, turning and walking out of the cafeteria to hurry up and get to class. Creative Writing, yay him and his uncreative ass!
Vanessa only managed a short nod before hearing the bell, getting up to put her tray away and heading out to start the day. As her and Abney approach the room for Creative Writing class, Victoria would be seen running up in an attempt to not be late. The girls sat next to each other, but Vanessa decided not to question her sister, saving that fun conversation for later. Mr. Jefferson walked into the room about five minutes after the bell, coffee in hand as everyone got settled.
Abney and Xavier would glance at each other, the two exchanging smiles as they got ready for whatever manner of insanity the class was about to drop on them for an assignment.
