What had started as just another routinely dungeon sweep had quickly turned into a confusing mess when Kerberos’ escape orb malfunctioned in the middle of teleportation leaving both the zoroark and his gazimon assistant, Griff, stranded in uncharted territory. In fact, by all accounts, it seemed that the orb had taken them into a different dungeon instead, as the pair trekked for hours on end through a labyrinth of tunnels flanked by tall green walls. To say that the dungeon was strange to the experienced explorers would be an understatement. The ground was pink and oddly soft, to the point that it bent slightly under their weight. In addition, some passages were blocked by gargantuan blobs of a strangely salty and sticky liquid. Furthermore, both explorers could hardly see weird unfocused shapes far up in the sky that moved occasionally, something completely untold for a normal landscape, even for mystery dungeons. But most notable of all was the all-encompassing thick musk that seemed to permeate every surface and corridor. No matter how far both explorers walked, the same smell persisted, and surprisingly, it was kind of familiar to Kerberos. He couldn’t manage to remember why, but he was certain that he had smelled this scent before somewhere around the guild. Kerberos was so lost in his thoughts trying to piece together their situation that he failed to hear his assistant’s concerns about an incoming wall of the same weird liquid they had been dodging for hours now.
Kerberos’s assertions weren’t too far off though, if only he had known the magnitude of the disaster he and his friend had stumbled upon. After the orb had malfunctioned, both explorers had in fact been teleported back to the guild. However, in the process of being transported they had been shrunk to an incredibly tiny size, even smaller than the average nano. To make matter worse, the coordinates in the orb had been off as well. Instead of being teleported to the main lobby, they had been transported into the vice-guildmaster’s room, precisely on top of one of his toes. As such, both explorers had spent the last few hours unknowingly wandering the gaps between scales of a single toe print. Once they figure out their situation, both explorers are in for a gauntlet that will test their skills to their fullest.
Meanwhile, far above the lost explorers, a mind-bogglingly huge sceptile from the nano’s perspective, the vice-guildmaster, rose from his slumber ready to enjoy his free day to its fullest. So far he had allowed himself to wake up way later than what he’s used to. He would have remained sleeping for a while longer had it not been for an odd momentaneous itch somewhere on his foot that interrupted his sleep. Still, the sceptile paid no mind to such an insignificant sensation and instead prepared himself for a day full of entertainment in the privacy of his chamber.
