This, above all else, is the perfect representation of a piece of my daily life.
My husband
has his computer directly across from mine (Mine is all tucked into the corner, so my backside is safe during scary movies and games), and we spend a lot of time leaning over and talking about the thing we found on such-and-such website. We laugh over Askreddits, we cringe at horribly written FA profiles, we share videos of adorable animals and stupid dance memes.
I love you, foxy, and I love you, computer wife <3
Pictures like this are why I love following your submissions on IB.
Slice-of-life stuff is interesting to me. I like knowing other people, meeting them, seeing how they react to things and how they interact. While the majority of the people I'm "forced" to interact with on a daily basis probably don't think about me at all, I do think about them.
Does that mom know, or care, about the game she's buying her son? Does that son consider the graphic violence or mature themes in the game amusing? Is he asking for it because his friends say it's cool?
Does that guy who looks so absorbed into shopping for routers work in the IT field? If not, does he know what any of the things he's reading actually mean?
Is that lady looking at her husband like that because she doesn't want a 60 inch TV? Is she mad because he's just buying it on a whim and they can't afford it right now?
People are fascinating!
With that said, this and the other "day to day" sketches you made, are making me very happy. :D
One of my favorite artists, permitting me a brief glimpse at her life. Thank you! ^-^

(PS: Sorry if this comes off as creepy... I over think a lot of things and this whole "thinking about people" thing is a side-effect of an ever-active, sometimes over-active imagination. I do try not to pry into peoples' lives. ^^; I don't like to snoop, but if people like to share, then I'm more than happy to pay attention!)

Aww, I don't think it's creepy at all! I also think it's fun to get to know people. I'm usually terrified to do it, but on the occasions I can drum up the courage, I think it's splendid to just watch them while they talk or do things. I like learning things about their emotional daily life, too, but more than that, I enjoy seeing their posture, how they hold silverware, which hand they use to open a door... just little visual cues. It doesn't really tell me too much about them as a person, but I think it's fun to see how they interact with their world versus other people I see.
I wonder if this has to do with me being an artist, so I'm more visual when getting to know people, and you are a writer, so you're more story based? Wouldn't that be something :D

Huh'... Y'know, I never thought of it like that. It does make sense. You looking for the visual aspects of their lives, the appearance of habit and instinct, while I look for the why, how, who, etc...
... I need to think about this more. XD
Though I do think that's probably a good reason as to why your art feels so organic and more... "real" than some others. That natural look of someone who just unthinkingly grabs for a fork with their right hand, or which food they pull back first when stepping away from something that's making them uncomfortable. Looking for that kind of thing and feeling it out in your art is definitely a good way to make your characters feel like PEOPLE. Not just lines and colors arranged attractively.
Interesting line of thought... o.o

I'm probably gonna copy your computer setup if I'm ever lucky enough to get into married life...
Unfortunately for me, the girl most likely to make full use of such a setup (who is also the girl I'm most interested in) had expressed back in highschool that she just wanted to be friends. (To be fair, she is a little bit younger than me. - not "cub" young, but she's 18 and I'm 21. And the last time I hit on her she said she wasn't ready for a relationship, with anyone... I do not have an accurate way to gauge whether that status has changed or not, but I like my chances for when it does, because I think I'm the only boy she hangs out with.)
