Before you ask; no, I haven't played Pokémon that much x3;

I am not overly familiar with the series, gaming or anime-wise, but I would love to get more into it eventually, but I admittedly have no idea where to start!

Anywho though, I just wanted to design a Pokémon trainer, mainly based on my personality and favourite Pokémon, not so much in terms of abilities and such since I'm pretty much a complete novice when it comes to actually battling x3;

Elowen Bio:

Name: Elowen Nymere
Nickname: Elwen
Age: 21

Place of Birth/Date of Birth: Snowpoint City, Sinnoh/17th August

Personality: Elowen is a Healer—not just in battle, but in spirit. But her compassion isn’t soft—it’s fierce. She listens with her whole heart, but she doesn’t flinch from pain or injustice. Her presence is graceful, yes—but it carries weight. When she speaks, it’s with purpose. When she comforts, it’s with fire.

Her rituals of care—singing lullabies to calm Taio during storms, brushing Espeon and Skitty’s fur after battles, practicing aura meditation with Kaiji—are acts of devotion, but also defiance. In a world that often treats Pokémon as tools, Elowen’s tenderness is a stand. She doesn’t just soothe—she protects, she challenges, she heals with intensity.

Unlike most trainers, Elowen seeks connection over conquest. She prefers discovering Pokémon in their natural habitats, learning their rhythms and wounds. Her team is family, and she defends them like one. When battles are necessary, she fights with empathy and precision—but she does not hesitate. Her strength lies in her ability to feel deeply and act decisively, to wield emotion as both shield and blade.

Elowen believes healing is not passive—it’s powerful. And she will not let anyone forget it.

Likes:

- Gentle Pokémon with emotional resonance
- Quiet moments of reflection and bonding
- Snowy landscapes, calm forests and rivers
- Quiet libraries and brewing herbal remedies
- Sea glass, spiral shells, and other small keepsakes
- Singing lullabies and aura harmonization rituals

Dislikes:

- Loud crowds and aggressive trainers
- Harsh criticism or emotional insensitivity
- Battles that disregard Pokémon well-being
- Disruption/destruction of sacred spaces

Pokémon Team:

- Kaichi (previously referred to as Riolu, nicknamed by Elowen)
- Taio (young Riolu)
- Espeon
- Skitty
- Shaymin
- Sylveon

Backstory:

Born in Snowpoint City, where sea meets snow, Elowen grew up surrounded by quiet legends and coastal serenity. Her childhood was steeped in whispered stories, herbal bundles drying by the fire, and long walks along frozen shores with her first Pokémon companions. Often misunderstood for her quiet nature, she found solace in the emotional language of Pokémon.

Her journey began not with ambition, but with a desire to heal. She studied ancient rituals in Canalave’s libraries, learned to read aura patterns, and devoted herself to creating safe spaces for Pokémon to unfold.

One winter, while traveling through a glacial forest, Elowen heard faint cries—not of pain, but of loneliness—echoing from a nearby cave. Inside, she found a trembling red-furred Riolu, its aura flickering erratically with grief and confusion. She didn’t approach with commands, but with presence: leaving warm food, meditating nearby, and placing healing stones as quiet offerings.

Over time, Riolu began to follow her—not out of fear, but trust. Their bond formed through ritual care: brushing fur, shared silence, and aura harmonization. When their connection deepened, Elowen gave the Riolu the nickname of Kaichi, that she would forever refer to it as, and tied a piece of sea glass to its neck with a strand of her cloak’s embroidery thread as a symbol of their friendship.

Even after evolving into a Lucario, Kaichi remains by her side, and continues to wear the sea glass pendant.

Whilst out travelling, Kaiji senses the aura of a Pokémon egg and ends up finding a Riolu egg in a nearby cave. As the egg hatches, a tiny Riolu emerges and Elowen's gentle nature comforts him. From then on, Kaichi acts as the Riolu's older brother and Elowen names him Taio. She also made a small spiral shell bracelet for Taio, as a symbol of their bond.

Attire:

- Seafoam green cloak embroidered with waves and her team’s footprints
- Silky white undershirt with pale blue trim, like ocean mist
- Navy skirt with ripple patterns, paired with thick white leggings
- Brown gloves, winter earmuffs, and snow-boots for warmth and trekking through Sinnoh's snow-capped environment

Elowen's Symbol/Emblem: The Spiral Shell - a sacred emblem of healing, protection, and emotional sanctuary.

Kaichi's Bio:

Name: Kaichi (originally referred to as Riolu, nicknamed by Elowen)
Species: Lucario
Gender: Male
Type: Fighting / Steel
Nature: Gentle, but also overprotective
Abilities: Aura, Inner Focus
Characteristic: Strongly defends those he loves

Story: Found as a frightened little Riolu, Kaichi was rescued and named by Elowen, after he was abandoned by his previous trainer for being 'too weak' in battle. Thanks to Elowen's gentle persuasion and kindness however, Kaichi soon began to trust her and started to follow her wherever she went.
His sea glass pendant, tied with a thread from Elowen’s cloak, was given to him as their bond grew, and he was nicknamed Kaichi, which stuck with him, even as he evolved into a Lucario.

Personality:
Kaichi is the embodiment of quiet strength. He acts as Elowen’s emotional anchor and protector—not through dominance, but through presence. His aura is steady and warm, often used to soothe others rather than intimidate.
Though evolved, he retains the sensitivity of his Riolu days, especially around Elowen and his younger teammates.

- Protective but gentle: He watches over Taio like a big brother, guiding him with patience and subtle correction.
- Emotionally attuned: Kaichi can sense shifts in aura and mood, often responding before words are spoken.
- Ritualistic: He participates in Elowen’s healing ceremonies with reverence, often leading aura harmonization circles.
- Quietly jealous: Occasionally feels left out when Elowen dotes on others, but never acts out—he simply draws closer, seeking silent reassurance.

Kaichi is also more than just a battle partner—he’s Elowen’s confidant, her emotional mirror, and her guardian. He helps her navigate the world with grace, offering silent support during difficult moments and grounding her rituals with his calm presence.

- Aura Meditation Partner: Their synchronized aura sessions are sacred, often performed at dawn or under moonlight.
- Battle Companion: When battles are necessary, Kaichi fights with precision and empathy, always protecting his teammates.
- Caretaker: He often assists Elowen in brushing fur, preparing herbal remedies, and calming younger Pokémon.

Likes:

- His role as a big brother: Kaichi enjoys watching over other Pokémon and ensuring their safety and gently encouraging them whenever they make mistakes.
- Aura harmonization at dawn: He loves the stillness of early morning, when Elowen lights her lantern and they meditate in sync. The quiet hum of aura feels like a shared heartbeat.
- Brushing sessions with Elowen: He finds comfort in the rhythmic strokes of her brush, especially when she hums softly. It’s a ritual of trust and care
- Sea glass and smooth stones: Kaichi collects small, polished objects that remind him of Elowen’s gentleness. He often places them in her keepsake pouch as silent offerings.
- Taio’s laughter: Though he rarely laughs himself, Kaichi is deeply soothed by Taio’s joy. It reminds him that protection can lead to playfulness.
- Herbal steam rituals: Participating in Elowen’s healing ceremonies, especially when she prepares warm herbal steam, makes him feel purposeful and serene.

Dislikes:

- Raised voices or harsh commands: Loudness unsettles him, especially when directed at Pokémon. He prefers communication through aura and gesture.
- Battles without empathy: He dislikes trainers who treat battles as domination rather than connection. He fights only when necessary, and always with restraint.
- Being excluded from rituals: Though he rarely asks for attention, Kaichi feels quietly hurt if Elowen forgets to include him in a ceremony or moment of bonding.
- Cold, clinical environments: Sterile Pokémon Centers or labs make him uneasy. He prefers natural healing spaces filled with warmth and scent.
- Disruption of sacred spaces: He’s protective of Elowen’s ritual areas—like her aura circle or memory sketchbook—and dislikes when others intrude without understanding.
- Feeling misunderstood: Kaichi’s quiet nature is sometimes mistaken for aloofness. He dislikes when others assume he’s emotionless or distant.

Taio Bio:
Name: Taio (originally referred to as Riolu, nicknamed by Elowen)
Species: Riolu
Gender: Male
Type: Fighting / Steel
Nature: Child-like and innocent
Abilities: Aura, Inner Focus
Characteristic: Overly affectionate towards those closest to him

Story:
Taio's egg was tucked away in a hollow beneath the roots of a frostbitten tree, its aura faint and flickering. It was Kaichi who originally found him.

Drawn by a pulse in the aura field—faint, like a memory—Kaichi led Elowen to the cave. Elowen followed his gaze and found the egg nestled in a bed of brittle moss, its shell etched with faint spiral patterns.
When the egg hatched, the Riolu inside didn’t cry. He didn’t move. His aura was erratic, like Kaichi’s had once been—grief tangled with confusion. Due to Kaichi's comforting presence however, the little Riolu slowly began to become more trustworthy of the two.

Over time, Riolu developed a friendly yet somewhat timid demeanour towards Elowen and his 'big brother' Kaichi and Elowen decided to name him Taio, meaning “echo” in an old Sinnoh dialect. She crafted a spiral shell bracelet for him, threading it with the same embroidery strand she’d used for Kaichi’s pendant.

Personality:
Taio is the embodiment of quiet affection. Shy by nature, he often hides behind Elowen’s cloak or Kaichi’s shadow, peeking out only when he feels safe. But for those he trusts, his love is unmistakable—expressed through gentle gestures, soft nuzzles, and the way he clings to Elowen’s hand during aura meditation.

His aura is delicate, like a flickering candle, but it responds vividly to kindness. Though he’s easily startled, Taio is deeply empathetic, often sensing distress before others do. He doesn’t speak much, but his emotions ripple through the air like whispers, and his presence brings a quiet warmth to Elowen’s healing circles.
Affectionate but reserved: Taio rarely initiates contact, but once bonded, he seeks closeness—curling up beside Kaichi, tugging gently at Elowen’s sleeve, or placing small keepsakes in her pouch.

Emotionally sensitive: He’s attuned to shifts in mood and aura, often retreating when tension rises, but returning with quiet comfort once the storm passes.

Ritual-oriented: Though young, Taio mimics Elowen’s healing rituals with earnest devotion—lighting tiny lanterns, brushing fur with oversized strokes, and humming lullabies in a whisper.
Admirer of Kaiji: Taio idolizes his older brother, often copying Kaichi’s movements during training or meditation. He watches Kaichi’s battles with wide eyes, absorbing every gesture.
Easily overwhelmed: Loud voices, sudden changes, or unfamiliar places can send Taio into hiding. But with Elowen’s reassurance and Kaichi’s steady presence, he slowly emerges, learning to stand his ground.

Likes:

Being close to Kaichi and Elowen, especially during quiet rituals or when he’s feeling overwhelmed
Soft textures, like Elowen’s cloak, brushed fur, or mossy stones—he often curls up in cozy spots
Gentle praise, especially when whispered or accompanied by a warm gesture
Aura lanterns, especially the small ones Elowen lets him light during evening ceremonies
Collecting tiny keepsakes, like smooth pebbles, feathers, or bits of thread—he often gifts them to Kaichi or hides them in Elowen’s pouch
Watching Kaichi train, mimicking his movements from behind a tree or rock
Singing rituals, especially when Elowen hums softly and Kaichi harmonizes beside her

Dislikes:
Sudden loud noises, especially shouting or crashing sounds—he’ll instinctively hide behind Kaichi
Being the center of attention, which makes him freeze or fidget nervously
Harsh commands, even if not directed at him—they unsettle his aura and make him retreat
Being separated from Kaichi or Elowen, especially in unfamiliar places
Cold, sterile environments, like Pokémon Centers or labs—he prefers natural, warm spaces
Feeling like a burden, even though no one treats him that way—he’s sensitive to perceived disappointment
Disruption of rituals, especially if someone mocks or interrupts Elowen’s healing practices
