Well, just last month I finally got into Dune. Read the novel, which is fantastic, and decided to watch the 1984 film. It is spectacular!
And the funniest thing was that the actor that played Cliff Vandercave in The Flintstones movie was the main character in Dune. XD And I was like "Hold on! That's Cliff Vandercave, but much younger!" I love when things like that happen, and they happen so rarely nowadays.

I'm currently tracking down the Dune TV series from 2001 to see how it compares. It looks really fun, very early 2000s special effects.
Oh, if you want to watch a 1984 movie adaptation, you can start with the Peter Cushing one from 1954, it's excellent. Peter Cushing was such a great actor!
And now I can't help imagining The Girls watching a late-night classic movie in their panties and T-shirts on the sofa and having a blast. That sounds cute! I wonder if I could commission you for that towards the end of the year. :3
