Story (Can vary by game): When being a mere cub, she was took by her parents to hunt, as they had the custom of take their cub to their first hunt to learn about life and death, but she and her parents were ambushed by poachers. She was the only to survive. To make things worse, she was took to a slave auction to be sold. Many dark people were trying to buy the young lynel, but suddenly a kind man offered the biggest bid, buying her.
On his home in a isolated area, he took care of the young lynel as if she was her daugther, but still she had to wear the slave chocker to make clear she has already an owner, so smarty poachers wouldn't kidnap her to sell her again. On time she learned that the man was in the past a knight royal to the King of Hyrule who left the military service just to have a peaceful life. During the time living with him, she has never felt sad again.
Sadly, one day a mysterious group visited the man, trying to force his help. But he rejected to aid them, and they simply killed him, burning his house. Irana had the luck to survive the incident.
Having only recovered part of his objects, including his old capelet and weapons, she decided to get stronger, up to the day that she can find her father's killers and make them pay.
Many years later, the rumor of a lyner capable of facing anyone began to spread. No one who encountered her was able to subdue her, and she apparently wanders from time to time through the ruins of the burned-out old house.
