I really wish that MLP FIM wasn't so episodic. We really needed to see 'villains' not just being reformed, but trying to live after their reformation. Like Gilda and Diamond Tiara. Instead they get their reformation and then we basically never see them again. Except for Starlight. I don't count Discord because he never really reformed.

That's unfortunately the thing about children's shows, tending to be episodic because that is what is expected. We did get some of that with the comics after the show wrapped up.
The movie did get that a tad with Tempest. Not so much reformed, but step one to get reformed.
