The Battle of the Bands
Last in pool
So you're there on the main stage of the Toxic Summer Fest in the Randall Field, just outside of Dallas, Texas.

10,000 screaming fans stand, jump, rave and mosh before you and your band, from the lunatics trying to jump the barricades at the front to the people up the back having to watch on the huge TV monitors set up for the occasion.

With gusto, you launch into the chorus of the current song, one of the band's biggest hits:

Lock up your daughters, and shoot your sons
Batten down the hatches when the daylight's done
‘Cause the boys are in town, and they’ve brought the big guns
So lock up your daughters… SHOOT YOUR SONS!!

Immediately after this, your enormous brother commences with his epic, fleet-fingered solo over to your left.

Of course, this leaves you - the only band member without an actual instrument - with absolutely nothing to do until the next verse kicks in!

That won't do - as you learned years ago, you can't just stand about like a spare prick at a wedding while attention gets diverted away from you! It's your job and your duty as frontman of this world-famous rock band to do something to entertain!

So what do you do?

Frankly, it's obvious - you take your trusty microphone stand and leap up it like a pole, placing one foot upon it and the other under it, balancing on it like the monk in that documentary about the Shaolin you watched last week!

The crowd sees you pull off this outstanding feat of balance and control and screams hard enough to be heard over even the high-octane guitar solo!

Satisfied with this, you fold your arms and look over at your brother.

He looks scandalised.

Time to add this to your repertoire, then.
