Recently had a discussion that inspired me to use Blaze, however, the model isn't up to snuff if you ask me. Outdated heads, outdated expressions, poor textures, so I thought it was long overdue that Blaze needed a bit of an overhaul. Here's a list of changes:
- Updated weight paints, her dress was particularly bad and still isn't perfect. I'm hiding the flaws with camera placement here, still needs a bit of work.
- Updated UV maps, the originals were super poorly done and for solid colours it doesn't really matter, but because her vest and pants have cloth texturing on them they were distorted and not to mention huge! And after inspecting official Blaze models and renders, the cloth texture is smaller and not as harsh.
- Updated textures, the simplest change. Looking at her art once again there were quite a few differences, although to be honest I'm not sure if some of these textures I edited in the first place lol. The vest was changed tho to match how it looks in Sonic Rush rather than Generations. Burning Blaze has had several textures corrected and has a similar metallic finish like Super Sonic/Shadow etc.
- Updated head, using the Jakesmodels Blaze from the Steam Workshop. Blaze has had the same head for years now and it just wasn't cutting it for me, various small things about it and the lack of expression available was the whole reason I updated her model in the first place! Though, she has that much expression now her head and body have to be separate models! Very happy with how she's looking so far though.
Now, in regards to a release, I'm not sure. It's still mostly Diag's model with a few changes, although I believe most of the flaws I fixed was a part of the inital KM model so it's up in the air if I'll even share this because I am an EVIL gatekeeper!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! We'll see.
