She is one of Ellie's and Carter's family friends and Toby's and Josephine's friends Travis (Toby went to school with and Caroline's father) and Martha-Sue (Caroline's stepmother).

Lucy (Caroline's mom) was also Toby's and Josephine's friends. Caroline was only 3 when Lucy passed away.
