"Crash, is that you? I've been looking everywhere!" ~ Coco Bandicoot 🛥️

My second game console was the PS1, and because we weren't very well off, my parents got one used. Eventually it started having laser problems, and games would freeze sometimes due to read issues. Usually, taking the disc out and putting it back in would fix the problem. On one fateful night, I was playing Crash Bash and it froze on me. However, in the process of taking the disc out and putting it back in again to "fix it", one of the metal ball bearings that keeps discs in place fell out and got lost in the carpet. The console stopped working completely after that point. I knew how little money we had and I felt at the time that it was my fault it stopped working. I had a good like hour long cry after that. It was a few months until we had another console - the N64 - which also died on us in like a year lol.
