I think it's suffice to say that Vivi might very well be one of the best characters in all of Final Fantasy. So much so that it's hard to say whether FF9's main antagonist is him or Zidane. He's both wonderfully designed and emotionally deep in ways that many characters aren't in the game.
At the risk of sounding egotistical, Vivi reminded me of myself when I first played the game. Not that I'm saying I'm anything spectacular, just in that I used to be very soft spoken and shy and I think that's what helped me connect so much to this game. You connect with Vivi first and foremost and I think if that hadn't been the case I may not have connected as well with this game as I have.
That said, there really wasn't much to do here. Sometimes things are just perfect as they are. Just little bit of my own style as it were sprinkled in, but Vivi is pretty much perfect as is.
