The vicious sounds of came from every which way. From thunderous roars to low growls. No matter where you tuned you could hear something monstrous between the tall trees or the smaller shrubs. To any other person, They’d take these sounds as anonymous warnings to stay away. However, to one pup, These terrifying sounds were just another Tuesday for him in the Dino Wilds.

“Good morning! Raw Rawr! It’s such a lovely day!”

His heavy front paws raced through the long and tangled forest of green and blue trees. Ones that looked like nothing any person had seen outside these prehistoric lands. That’s because in the Dino Wilds, Not only, could you find extraordinary plant life but real life dinosaurs as well. You’d rarely see any humans running about out here. Outside of two very knowledgeable individuals and one Bernese Mountain pup. Who seemed to have lived in this expansive wilderness all his life. Rex howled loudly and raced through the path ahead. Greeting every roar and growl he got between his spree. He could hear his wheels spur and jump in the dirt. He was sure they were leaving quite the trail. A mix of paw prints and skid marks that ran behind him as he raced towards his home place. The Dino vet center stood tall, It’s gated compound currently housing several Triceratops and their young. He was glad they had been able to recover quickly since their normal grazing land had been recently inhabitable. Taylor and Rex had been busy scouting for a new location for them when he got a call from the good doctor to come see her. He eagerly walked towards the front doors of the clinic, Greeting his friendly Brachiosaurus friend, Benny, as he entered.

Letting out a loud yawn and rubbing her eyes under her glasses, Dr. Tammy Turbot continued to look through the accumulated data on her screen. Between seeing and treating injured or sick dinos around the Dino wilds, She had been busy looking into some bizarre structures that her daughter had discovered a week prior. To say it concerned her was an understatement, but she didn’t want to make Rex or Taylor worry. She needed more context to the discovery and would hopefully get some answers soon. She heard the unmistakable sound of Rex’s wheels heading towards her, Quickly switching the monitor to something else before turning her attention to the fluffy pup.

“Morning Rexy!” She said eagerly, Sipping coffee out of a mug. It was lukewarm at this point.

“Morning Dr T!”

“How was your morning run?”

“Great! JJ and Deloris say hi!”

The good doctor smiled, glad to hear that their local T-Rex pair were well.
“You look sleepy doc!”

“Oh, I usually am. After all, We got a lot of dinos here who need their check ups!”

Rex tilted his head at her, Sensing something was off but he didn’t pry further.
“Yup yup. Which is why I’m always happy to help if need be! Taylor and I are still looking for a new grazing path for Laura and her babies.”

“Mmm hmm, I know you want to race back over to her but would you be able to stay here and assist me with greeting our guests first? They should be here soon.”

Rex beamed with excitement, Running in a few circles. Guests usually meant the doctor was referring to Ryder and the Paw Patrol. He was always so happy when his friends came to visit him.

“Yes yes yes! I can’t wait! I’ve got to let them see the new raptor eggs we’re incubating. Then I’ve got to show Skye…”

“Well Rex, Ryder and his team will be slightly delayed in their arrival. They won’t be here for another two days.”

“Oh…”

The doctor leaned down to pat his head.

“Sorry bud, but they’re a busy set of pups. I’m sure there’s still a few things they need to take care of.”

“Right, That makes sense, but who are we expecting then?”

Tammy turned her head back to her computer screen. Letting her concern come back slightly before returning Rex’s gaze with a confident smile.

“Do you remember that area Taylor pointed out a week back?”

Rex couldn’t forget it. The pair had been examining some new foliage that had grown near by. The plants and their purple flowers were nothing Taylor and Rex had seen before. They had followed them to a large set of rocks that didn’t look right. That’s to say, they didn’t look naturally made. Almost man made, with bizarre writing inscribed along their worn surface.

“Yeah! I couldn’t read any of it. Didn’t look like Dino language either.”

“Agreed! I had asked Ryder about it and he recommended an archaeologist who has experience with deciphering old languages.”

“Oh cool! Then maybe he can tell us what it says! Do you think there used to be humans that lived in the Dino Wilds?”

“Possibly, I doubt we’re the first humans or Pups to step foot here.”

Rex dug one of his paws into the floor nervously. A somber thought coming back to him.

“Yeah, probably not.”

He shook it off.
“Well, I can’t wait to meet him!”

“Me too! And guess what? He’s got a pup as well!”

Rex gave his tail another chase in excitement, Getting a giggle from the doctor. He loved meeting new pups, He had remembered a few times where the Paw Patrol had mentioned a couple pups they met on their missions. He found it fascinating to hear their stories of merpups, pirate pups, even some group called the cat pack. Who ever they were.

“Oh?! What’s their name?”

“Con Cuidado….Careful…Careful.”

“Heheheh Tracker. Relax, you’re doing fine.”

Tracker had been quite the eager pup when Carlos mentioned they were going to the Dino Wilds. Even more excited when he found out that the Paw Patrol would be joining them as well. At least, that was the plan at first. Till Ryder had told them their departure would need to be delayed due to a few situations in town. No issue for Tracker. What did make the pup nervous was the treacherous terrain they had to navigate through. Though the massive and beautiful crystals had been quite the sight when he saw them, He primary kept his attention on the road or lack there of. His jeep drove precariously through the gravel and rocks. Their bodies jumped and shook with every thrust Tracker gave on the throttle. The pup did his best to drive carefully. Intending not to let their excursion be delayed by anything. As he drove, his mind was also somewhere else. Tracker had heard from Carlos prior that there was going to be another pup he hadn’t met before. It made him curious.

Since his previous adventure, Tracker had been been hoping that one day he’d find another pup he could relate to. Beyond friendship possibly. Obviously he was keeping his hopes to a minimum and expected this to be just a friendly encounter where he could make a new friend. He always loved meeting new pups. As he pondered, he hadn’t noticed his jeep had finally passed through the rough path and onto much smoother terrain.

“Hahaha! Perfecto!”

With a triumphant howl, Tracker managed to push his jeep past the bumping road. He thought things would be smooth sailing from there. Though just a few feet ahead of him, his heart sank. Their path seem to come to a sudden end. With only a massive waterfall in front of them. Tracker’s ears twitched, through the roar of the falls, he could make out several other sounds. Animals, though hey weren’t any animals that Tracker had heard before.

¡Escucho! I hear something behind the waterfalls but how do we get through?”

“Well, it’s easy, we’ll just….”

With an eager smile on his face, Carlos leaned in and pushed the throttle forward.

“Oi! Carlos! Whoaaaaa!”

Tracker yelped in surprise as their jeep went flying through the falls. The boy and his pup getting semi soaked in the cool water but all Tracker could process was the sight he saw. A vast orange and green coated land stretched as far as his eyes could see. From between the massive trees and course dirt. He could see…

“Dinosaurios…Real…Life….Dinosaurs!!!!”

Tracker let out another loud howl as their jeep finally touched the ground and skidded a few yards towards what looked to be a stegosaurus. They watched in astonishment as the creature bellowed loudly. Paying no mind to the pair as it continued to munch on grass.

“Fantastico!”

“Amazing!” Carlos added. The boy lifted himself up up from his seat. Trying to get a better view of the enormous land. Soon enough, he spotted where they needed to go. Pointing to a large brown building near by.

“Alright Tracker, We’re heading to that station over there.”

Tracker followed Carlos’s lead and pressed forward. As they passed a few Dinos, Tracker could have sworn he saw a large tower near by the plains. It looked very similar to the look out back in Adventure Bay, wondering if that might be the pups base of operations. He was slightly disappointed that they couldn’t make it today but he was happy to be somewhere new. To meet new people as well. Even a new pup. Tracker felt his stomach lurch a little at the thought and focused on his driving.

They had soon approached what Carlos had described as the Dino vet center. It was a massive wooden structure within the gated pen. The pair could see a number of triceratops hanging out by it. Tracker was careful to park away form the heard. Best not to disturb them.

The jungle pup jumped out his jeep and stretched his legs. Taking in the view of the new creatures.

“Magnífico! There’s so many Dinosaurs here!”

“Definitely earns the name of Dino Wilds huh? Let me grab our gear and we’ll head inside.”

As Carlos began to remove his archaeologist gear from the jeep, Tracker picked up on a new sound. Turning around, He saw a small triceratops looking up at him. It seemed very curious of the new pup, especially his large ears. She let out a tiny roar towards him. The pup couldn’t resist himself and walked towards the curious creature.
“Awwww Que lindo!”

“Uhhh Tracker. Be careful.” Carlos warned.

The pup leaned in to greet the smaller dinosaur, who in turn leaned her head against his nose. Letting a few small chirps out her mouth.

“It’s nice to meet you niña!“

A loud bellow made the trio jump. A large Triceratops had began to move towards them. The smaller dinosaur quickly retreating behind her. The jungle pup realizing it was the baby’s mother. It bellowed again and Tracker fell backwards from fright.

“Tracker!” Carlos called out.

“Oi oi oi! Lo siento! I didn’t…”

Tracker felt awful at angering the large mother. Unsure of what he could do to fix it. Those concerns seem to be relieved when out of the blue, A set of wheels raced in front of the jungle pup.  He thought it was some sort of vehicle but this thing had a whole pup attached to it. The black, white, and very fluffy dog bellowed back at the Triceratops. It almost sounded like English but a lot more garbled and aggressive. With that, The dinosaur seemed to back off. Taking her young one along.

“Sorry! She was just being careful! She’s…not very trusting of new people or pups apparently. Hahahah!”

Tracker laid on his back, stunned now only at the encounter but at the pup that looked down at him. His tri-colored fur shined between his shiny green reflected vest. Almost as bright as his golden brown eyes. He beamed a confident smile at him before he leaned in.

“Speaking of.”

He offered his paw to the Jungle pup.

“I’m Rex! And Welcome to the Dino Wilds Tracker!”

Tracker blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

“Hermoso”

Dino Tracks (TrackerXRex) CH 2: Jurassic Ruins
When a strange mystery occurs at the Dino wilds, Tracker, Carlos and the Paw Patrol are called to assist! However, with Ryder and his pups delayed in their arrival. Tracker finds himself spending some one on one time with the excited Dino pup. Leading to a new friendship, and possibly something more.

Big thanks to @lightspeedthepup for the incredible art as always. I hope you all enjoy. :)

Wow, what a great start to the story, I think it will become my favorite of all hehe :)

For the next story (if there is one) it could be a love between Claw x Arrby (like Claw falling in love with Arrby and so on)
