As a child I once looked towards the idols above, and the illumination they shared
Until I became far more familiar with the realistic understanding that reality has snared
and found those who I once gave such respect and admiration in glory to uphold
were the bearers of all life's futility, a reminder even the illuminated are dark and cold
but a lesson I came to find as I buried myself beneath the soil and sand
Never look kindly upon those who shine, there are horrors beneath the work they hand

inspired by Pogo's " Indian Pacific, Time To Discover " which can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-jAouhglLQ

It's funny actually. Truly as a child I had been inspired by an artist online to begin my work. I was overjoyed, amazed and so very happy to tell them they became my light and path into expressing myself. The only answer I would receive was to never bother them again. I've worked with many individuals, undergone projects. The funny thing you come to find as you learn more about the people you so respect...their work outshines themselves. Guess I'm a mirror in that regard too. Being human is odd.

I love both the song and the art.
I can definitely relate; I experienced something similar, though i suppose being ignored is better than being told to never bother them again. All in all, wonderful art!

Thank you most kindly. Aye, the state of interaction between some is often strained. It's at it's worst when it comes upon those who inspire.

I've had that happen too but fortunately I've met some people I've respected and admired
who truly were as wonderful and nice as you could ever want. It gave me hope and the
desire to continue to create and share my work. :)

Aye, and such individuals are a marvel I openly admit. Always heart warming as to partake in such stories.
