Flat Stanley is on yet another adventure! Thankfully, Arthur is there to keep Stanley company. Brothers should stick together.
It seems Stanley's popularity has earned him another invite to travel the world and meet one of his fans. This time around, a curator for a German art gallery has requested Stanley make an appearance alongside his brother, Arthur. Stanley had travelled to many galleries in the past, so he was familiar with this type of location. He'd even been put up on display before, but that's a story for another time.
Stanley and his brother arrived in Germany and were welcomed into the fancy gallery by its owner. The woman looked young and the building looked new, prompting Arthur to ask if the gallery had opened recently. The woman was impressed by Arthur's deductive skills and admitted that the gallery was indeed new and was about to open for the first time today. The curator was hoping that, by having Flat Stanley present for the grand opening, that she could attract more visitors.
Stanley was flattered to be the guest of honor, and agreed to stick around.
The curator was very happy and said the coming months would bring Stanley the most attention he's ever had before. This confused Stanley, as he was sure he'd only be staying for just one night. That's when the woman rushed the two boys off to a room for them to get changed.
The room was full of all sorts of costumes, and Arthur sure took his sweet time deciding which one to wear. Stanley was getting a bit impatient, as Arthur wanted to have first picks of his costume. That left Stanley and Arthur standing in the middle of the room in their underwear for a solid 10 minutes before Stanley ran out of patience.
"Just pick something, Arthur!" Stanley cried.
"Oh, don't make a fuss, Stanley." Arthur replied, "It's not like we're in a rush or anything."
Just as Arthur said that, two glass panels hidden in the ceiling slammed down around the boys. In an instant, Stanley and Arthur were trapped between two glass panes. Neither boy could move, both stuck in the position they were squished in. The curator came into the room to examine her newest display piece. She was very impressed with what she saw and knew that this was what she needed to attract more attention to her gallery.
Right away, Stanley and Arthur were framed and put up in the gallery. Many guests came to admire the boys in all their flattened glory.
