Normally on the weekends at the Starbucks across the street from my old place there would be a line in the drive through all the way through the afternoon. I don't know if it's just because that particular location is one of two in the area that's got a drive through, but there's more Starbucks and similar shops in that area than I can count. At one point in time I could go one block in any direction from that house and find a coffee shop. Around here I don't think Starbucks is terribly popular though. I don't even know where there are any, honestly... :(

I can't really speak for the business practices of Starbucks on the whole (although it's often filled with "WTF?!" moments...), but they sure as hell are a great company to work for. My store - thankfully - is not a drive through, in part because I dislike speaking to people I can't see, and also because they tend to be nightmarishly busy... Gotten 1.5 sketches done so far today, I'll have to post those when I get home.
