I must say the pricing on this digital is confusing. ^_^; You're saying it's just a 200dpi file but is ready for 24x36 printing, but you're not selling that size on here? Also you admit to it being incomplete, yet it's probably the most expensive (single image) digital on the site right now. ^_^;
Inkbunny prints @ 300 dpi; therefore my file does not apply for a 24x36in print on the site; and making a resample of the image to fit the printing criteria would be stealing from you, IMO. Mainly because you wouldn't be getting what the 300 dpi print the site offers.
All of my digital downloads (regardless of print size, even though i try to keep them as large as possible) are $5.00 - $10.00...
I sell them at such price because you can print it wherever you like, in the sizes you want, the times you want. I know there are far better artists than me charging less for their digital downloads, but that's on them to judge how much their work is worth. Besides; if you just want to have a digital copy with a decent pixel size, you can click on "Max. Preview" and save it for free.
I put these up for whoever would like to actually print them themselves. I can't think of any other reason why would someone want such file.
The image resolution is: 5315x3543px.
Indeed, this is unfinished. It's lacking a character i completely removed from the image. But then again; it doesn't take away anything from the image, and it's fully shaded.
If i hadn't stated it; would you have noticed? I was just being honest.

That's a silly reason. =p I mean, someone who buys a print could just scan it in at any resolution they want! Are you gunna charge more for that? People don't normally go around printing stuff (who has that kind of wall space?), and it costs money to do that (photo paper + ink) where as scanning in stuff is basically free. If anything your pricing should be the other way. =3
And no I didn't notice on my own, I just read your description. ^_^

I'm not trying to avoid "piracy", if that's what you mean.
Mind, scanning a small print won't give you the same resolution, not to mention the cmyk dot spread.
I believe if you "don't go around printing stuff", and you want to own an image it should be easier to order a print, rather than get a print file and doing it yourself.
I'm sorry, but i don't get your point. Maybe i'm missing something? Why would you want a digital download to be cheaper than a print?

I just think you should price things from a profit standpoint, that's all. For example, right now you make $8 profit from your digital sale, but only about $1.xx on your (smallest) print. Did you click the link I mentioned above? ^_^;
I don't think people just go around printing art all day and handing it out to everyone they know or anything like that. Again, it costs money to make prints, so it's not something people do 'just because', they usually have a reason (I'd assume). With that in mind, I don't think people want to print it wherever they like. As far as I can tell people like having high quality (and large) files of art they like. Perhaps they can't print it, or don't want to have it printed and put up in their house, you know?
In the end it's up to you what you price your stuff at, that's the nice thing about this site. I just figured I'd give you my 2¢ on how I believe people think about digitals when they're looking to buy one. For me, I like buying digitals to show my support to an artist I like. I think of it like a tip jar where I get a little something too. =3
I don't wanna pester you about this so I'll leave it alone after this. Good luck on your sales. =3

This. Y'see i didn't think of digitals this way. Indeed, not many people have the will/time to get stuff like this printed.
Maybe i'm wrong on this; but i priced the prints lower because you still have to pay for S&H. and even though i'm not making much profit out of it; i believe you can make much more out of the digital file than with a piece of paper (But it seems it's just me).
You're not pestering me, on the contrary. I like hearing other's opinions (and debating). Maybe i sound a bit agressive, and i apologize if i did; it wasn't my intention.
I gotta tell you, you have a point; and i will reduce the digital's pricing; But then maybe offering the full resolution composite might be a bit overkill, since as you say (and i confirmed) very few print them out at large sizes; i will, however release the larger files upon request.

I only hope it spurs more sales for you! Lower prices usually means more sales. It's the Walmart way of thinking, but look how successful they are. ^_^; Thank you for taking the time to give thoughtful replies on this. =3

The digital has lots of details worked into it, very fun to zoom in close and pick them out. =3
I could suggest that you use PNG instead of a TIF file because I took your TIF and re-saved it as a PNG and it went from 17.2MB down to 14.9MB, which is pretty good considering there is zero visible difference between the two images. I checked by adding both to Photoshop and used the 'difference' filter, and it came up 100% black (no differences).

And after saying all of that, I found out why. PNG doesn't support color profiles, which is why PNG is smaller but that could be a major loss in print quality. So better just leave it be.
