Out of boredom, I felt like doing something for Princess Jasmine which happens sometime after the third movie "Aladdin and the King of Thieves".
One night, after attending a royal party somewhere, Aladdin is all tired out from the excitement that happened and ends up falling asleep early in the bed that he and Jasmine share together. Not wanting to disturb him in that state, Jasmine does not yet feel tired as she decides to pay a little visit down into the palace basement where all the cooking staff keep the spices, food, ingredients, and kitchen utensils down safely, not wanting unwanted hands sneaking around behind their backs. After everything she, Aladdin, and the others went through (since the very first movie all through the animated series, comics, games, and up to the third and final film) Jasmine almost feels overwhelmed by the danger and the hard times they had faced, needing some kind of relief from the pressures of palace life and the stress of life-threatening situations, even knowing who works long evening hours after meal times in the basement as she slips down there, still wearing her purple gown (that same belt cloth she wore around her waist in the movie was advertised as a cape for the doll in 1992) and will later encounter Nadia, the palace cook who has been like an authoritative motherly figure ever since Jasmine lost her real mother, acting as a personal guide whenever the princess needs it. But also Nadia knows what it is that Jasmine secretly loves, something she is not quite ready to tell Aladdin after everything he's been through and will wait until the time is right. For now, she does a little roleplay with Nadia for the time being until she's ready to go up to bathe and sleep.
Although Nadia is indeed the palace cook and a strict one who is rule abiding and keeping everything in order, she still has her morals of knowing the difference between discipline and compassion, even knowing what it is that Jasmine secretly loves and desires that she never told her friends about for her own reasons which Nadia respects and being the only one who knows so far. The palace cook pretends to be cross, disappointed, and displeased with Jasmine for sneaking down late at night trying to steal snacks, messing with spices and leaving them disorganized, something that royal members should know better not to do when the cooking staff are on duty.
In the roleplay, Nadia does not hesitate in putting on the motherly and authority figure that Jasmine needs in her life when she doesn't respect the rules of the palace, especially hearing how the princess later confesses how she used to behave at times in a rather rude, unkind, snobby, entitled manner towards others, her father, even her friends, Aladdin included and hardly anyone ever called her out on it, appreciating Nadia for having enough courage to do that in this moment, princess or not. Having a royal title does not give her a right to behave badly towards others, even in what she views as the 'smallest offense' as Nadia states, doing whatever it takes to get her point across Jasmine, even if it takes all night to do so.
If this were no roleplay situation, Jasmine would have protested and fought back, but doesn't, not when it's part of the secret game with Nadia whom she respects as her authoritative and motherly figure she had been lacking lately, being more than just the head palace cook that makes the best meals. Every now and then, Jasmine will do this when life gets too stressful, but only when she's in the mood for it. If not, Nadia never forces her to do what she doesn't want to and waits until Jasmine will let her know.
I don't own the Aladdin franchise.
