I wonder if soap boxes have become fully anachronistic. Companies had already switched to cardboard boxes by the time I was a kid, but I haven't even heard anyone use the phrase since a Boondocks comic a while back.
Oh that's true, if nothing else there's enough cartoons and movies depicting the soapbox derby. I just specifically wondered about the saying "to be on one's soapbox" because that one's specifically a little less common.
