I have switched to GIMP, well, not completely. But I'll be using it exclusively on my new computer. I really liked this panel of Chucky and Dave from the next comic page. Also, the inking was done with Photoshop, but the color and background was done in GIMP. I'm very impressed with GIMP so far.

Chucky is drinking a barley-wine, Dave is drinking a big lager. If you mean it looks better than the others, that's probably because you're seeing the image so close up. The actual comic pages are gigantic, but shrunken down for posting.

GIMP is great!
I use Linux and for us, it handles very much like PS on Windows.
But whomever the team was that did the Windows port, they musta had a few pints like that because it's not even the GIMP I know, other than the logo 0,o;

I love how Dave is drinking basic American beer in its native vessel, the common glass mug, and Chucky has something more special in its own proper glass (which tells me the bar where they're drinking knows its beer!)

I use GIMP to to color pics and I have to say I really love that programm it´s easy to handle and you have lot of things in it.

The hard part is when you get very used to using something. I've been using Photoshop since 2006 and I really know the ins and outs of it. But yes, GIMP is very nice. I actually just found out that I can download an older version of Photoshop from the Adobe website, so I'm back to Photoshop once again.
