Sentret represents the common animals of my area both squirrel and weasel related, and specifically to the baby squirrel I caught named Squaggle. Though it could have been a Volbeat, too.
The wooper is from the Swamp I'd play in full of frogs and salamanders. We would swim in the mud. I'm amazed I never got leeches, tbh. Big core memory.
Plusle represets my Bunny, Bugsy, I got as a little kid. Electric types would be accessible to me having grew up where a power plant was within driving distance my family would drive past pretty often. If not, the rabbit would have been an Azumarill for Mice and Rabbits.
Dunsparce is the only true Stretch of a pokemon from this pick. This was basically the freebee slot of adventure when traveling that could have been orthworm, Nymbal, Scyther, Spinarak, oddish, Hoppip, morlull, venonat, Surskit, Korphish, etc. I chose dunsparce specifically because of the amount of times during hikes we would come across snakes. This time about when we were picking mountain blueberries. (Wouldn't mind a Hoppip here though)
Sneasel is the Obligatory Cat section because I have so many cats, and for a similar reason as Sentret, there are indeed plenty of Weasel family species up here as well. It was between this and Pumpkaboo. I love Plants, but Sneasel represents my first cat better than a Pumpkaboo would. He was very Cool, and bold, and self confident. A Sassy fella.
Eevee is the Obligatory Dog, as I've also had doggies too. I worked really hard to earn the money for my dogs all by myself, and I think that eevee would be one of those common dogs you'd find in need of homes like mine were. Pika and Remo were mutts, and Eevee is a really good representation of being a bit of everything. I don't think it'd turn into a Sylveon because my Pups were abused before I got them and I had to get their friendship first. The emotional scars left by the previous owners never left, it was really hard for my puppies. I hated seeing that they knew what a gun was, or were afraid of cans or bottles held in the hand by men. That's why I think my eevee would've been either an Espeon, Glaceon, or Leafeon, not a Sylveon.
I gave myself six pokemon instead of four because of how many pets I have and currently do care for. If I didn't have a dog, Eevee would've probably been the Azumarill or Pumpkaboo. I spent three days trying to determine what mons would or wouldn't be around where I grew up and what mons would be commonly bred or invasive here etc, and then picked out some of my biggest memories from there relating to animals and events.
It was really hard picking out events and mons for a realistic team. There were a lot of good reasons for me to have this or that. I think I chose from the most impactful moments more than skewing towards my favorite mons too hard. I didn't want to base my mons on Hobbies because that felt a little too hard pushed, and not line up with aquiring pokemon as I grew up.
