based on the og splatoon splatfests. i do have a bit of a story for it
"Welcome back, to another exciting turf war, today's match should be quite interesting to see. Today's team matchup's will be artists versus writers, will the ink brush be mightier than the pen, or will the artists be written out of existence? Well we won't have our answer just standing around talking will we? Lets bring out our contestants!" The announcer replied enthusiastically and full of energy
Down on the field, stood a blue pad on one end, and an orange pad on the end, as four characters emerged from the ink of the pads. One of the fighters from the blue pad was an otter, named Joey, and over on the orange pad, was a fighter, named Ruki. Ruki stood there focused on the ground ahead of him as he held his N-Zap '83 in his paws ready to to get to action, meanwhile Joey stood there at his base holding his Krak-On Splat Roller grinning widely feeling excited to show off what he could so. Looking all around, they all saw they were in Walleye Warehouse and began plotting their plan of attack, waiting for the round to begin.
"Seems our contestants are fired up and ready to go, lets not keep them waiting, so here, to start the match, we bring you, JUDD!" The announcer exclaimed
Judd walked on up to the observation booth and stared blankly into the field and began the countdown. 3......2..........1......
Wasting no time at all, everyone quickly went to work covering as much turf as they could, Joey slapped his roller on the ground and and sped off into the fray paving the ground for his team to swim through. Ruki though was busy inking territory as he made his way forward throwing a point sensor ahead of him, highlighting one of his foes swimming in ink.
"Thought you could from eh?" Ruki replied watching his enemy attempt a hasty retreat
Taking aim, Ruki quickly splatted his foe and proceeded forward covering up the blue ink. Joey on the other hand, was making his way around the fight sneaking up from behind and found a nice little corner and planted a beacon down on the ground to jump back to in a hurry.
"Hehe, these guys are making this too easy" Joey replied as he sped off
Covering up territory with his roller, Joey soon found his Krakken ability had charged up and spotted two enemy team members ahead of him trying to splat his team with suction bombs
"Not on my watch!" Joey yelled out charging forward
The other team began shooting their ink at him, it was futile, as he unleashed his krakken ability and swam up to them in a flash. The others didn't have a chance to react as he lept out of the ink spinning like a top splatting them before swimming off deeper into enemy territory, just as Ruki ran around a corner to see the aftermath of the attack.
"Okay you little sneak, where are you hiding?" Ruki asked as he tossed out a point sensor but nothing showed up, "Darn it! Got away, your luck wont last forever though" Ruki then proceeded to reclaim the territory Joey inked up
Once the krakken wore off, Joey found himself near the enemy base and quickly claimed all he could around their spawn point before hurrying off to find a hiding place
"Not good, almost out of ink, gotta hide somewhere and place down another beacon, I can't lose my foothold now" Joey commented to himself as he hurried off not noticing he was being followed
Joey continued forward covering as much territory as he could before checking his map to see if he was in a good spot to refill the ink for his roller and noticed that someone was following him and and had almost caught up to him. Joey quickly dove into the ink to hide and recharge his ink hoping the enemy wouldn't notice him as he prepared to make a run for it.
Joey just watched silently as the enemy ran by him swinging an ink brush all over, somehow missing the spot, the otter was hiding in and jumped down a ledge to to cover the rest of the territory down below. Joey didn't waste this opportunity and popped out of the ink and flung his roller at the enemy sending a splash of ink his way.
"BOOYAH!" Joey exclaimed watching his foe return to his spawn point
Joey quickly threw a beacon down on the ground and jumped to his other beacon just as Ruki swam up seeing the enemy inking the territory. Looking around, Ruki quickly spotted the beacon and broke it with a few shots from his NZAP.
"Little sneak, your trick won't work against me" Ruki replied and splatted the enemy team trying to rush against him
Once Joey landed at his beacon, he quickly noticed an enemy team member running behind cover as they pulled out an inkstrike. Wasting no time, Joey Quickly rushed to the enemy with his ink roller, hoping to catch the enemy before he could fire his inkstrike. Just as the enemy team member was about to launch, Joey managed to run them over with his roller at the last second, stopping the strike. His victory against his foe was short lived however, as the timer was suddenly at the thirty second mark.
"Not good, they have more territory than us, gotta push harder if we are going to win" Joey commented to himself as he covered up all that he could as the rest of his team did their best to deal with the enemy artist team.
At the fifteen second mark the two teams clashed with each other fighting over the middle of the map desperate to claim victory. While they fought, Joey and Ruki were busy desperately inking all they could for their team, with only ten seconds left, Joey rounded a corner up a ramp just as Ruki did the same on the opposite end of the map. The two locked eyes with each other and charged forward, Joey quickly popped his special krakken ability only to watch as Ruki did the same. The two swam up to each other other unable to splat the other as the matches final five seconds ticked away. 5.......4.........3........2.........1......., as the timer ended their specials wore off and were left standing there checking their mini map's to see who had won.
"That was quite the exciting match wasn't it folks? You can bet these fighters gave it their all, wouldn't you agree Judd?" The announcer asked in excitement
".......Meow..." was all Judd said in reply
"Truer words have never been spoken, so lets not waste Judds time any longer folks, take it away Judd, tell us who won!" The announcer exclaimed in anticipation of who won this battle
Everyone on the field all watched at a large tv screen as Judd was busy carefully calculating every little centimeter of inked territory. Just as quickly as Judd began analyzing the results, a victor was chosen, and Judd held out an orange flag, showing victory for the artist team.
Joey just dropped his roller in defeat as Ruki jumped up and down in excitement for his teams victory.
"That's it for this match folks, until next time, stay fresh!" the announcer shouted out
"Almost had you there, gotta admit, that was a close match" Ruki replied handing Joey his roller
"Yeah I know, still sucks to lose after all that hard work" Joey replied holstering his roller on his back
"Next turf war we should team up, we'll be unbeatable then" Ruki suggested holding out a paw
Joey nodded his head and shook Ruki's paw in agreement, "You bet, they won't stand a chance when we team up, I look forward to it"
