The flags Shadow are holding here are the Male-Loving-Male Flag (the teal-blue-green-white stripes, basically a more specific Gay Flag) and the Demi-Romantic Flag (white and green with black triangle).

So in essence, while Shadow finds men sexually attractive in general, he requires a deep emotional connection before he starts feeling romantically attracted.

While this is a crude exaggeration, you could imagine it that this version of Shadow might be more comfortable with getting frisky on the first date and saving the candlelit dinners for way later once he feels more open and trusting.

But the specifics would be best left to the artist ^^

I ask because there is a dialogue from Shadow that I found curious and interesting in the first chapter of his coming out, about how he once allowed himself to be vulnerable or show himself as he is and they laughed at him. I don't know if it has anything to do with it or is related :)
