This is the follow up to my last song Filament. I can't say how many times I remixed this piece and because analog be analog, getting the settings back to where they were last when I was working on this, yeah, it's funny like that. So I have 7 different versions and this was the one that I liked the best to share.
Instruments:
TR-909, TR-808, TB-303, JD-800, SH-101, Juno-G
I really liked how the TR-808's hats really shown through on this one. I been playing around with sending the hats through an effects chain of compression and reverb and it somehow made them crispier and I really liked the color of it. When I want really crispy hats, I usually go for the TR-606 as they are more crispy than KFC chicken, yet, my TR-606 is in the shop as the switches on it are in needing to be replaced and I am not about to solder 21 switches or so on something older than I am. It seems a lot of my old instruments had to go into repair, my Juno, and SH-101 just came back to me so, yey, I make music.
On another note, the JD-800 is one of my newest of instruments and already I am beginning to like it a lot. It has 4 oscillators and I didn't know I could split them between the midi so I get more versatility than I thought prior. Kinda reminds me of how the Jupiter had the dual mode to it... But anyway, enjoy.
