Here's one of the traditional commissions I did while at Furnal Equinox, but I was so busy I didn't keep track of who my commissioners were! So uhh if you see this and it's you, leave a mention please so I can properly say it's you!
Love the use of white-out to mask the charactature. Seems like you could have added some haze in the same way with the white out between the boundary lines of the character. I.e. a mist of smoke hanging in the fore ground. While the lines are universally bolded, they also draw attention to the less seen aspects of the scene, so a smoke layer - just get your perspective right so they are all at the same level or it looks weird.
mhm? I might be wrong bu some of those lines (in white) look like whiskers. Just some dotted (strokes in black) lines below them would accentuate how thin those features are. - since they are outside the main character they can be interpreted how ever the viewer chooses. I.e. pay attention to me for the character, also pay attention to the secondary details. They are often overlooked anyway.
This would also give you an excuse to frame something on the inside of the line as the outside. Secondary detail, secondary highlights.
You don't have to be photo-real when drawing but you can introduce those little glints when you need them so long as they visually make sense.
/burp/ I am drunk
