This time it's a neat AU Digi made! Down below I'll put the description Digi made for this pic and the main plot of the AU, and I have to say that it sounds very interesting!
But, before that, I have to say that I'm very proud of the background on this one!
And, also, if you notice, in the canister there's a handwirtting, which I hope most of you recognice. It's Della's handwritting and I'm very pleased with how it looks, I did a good job with that too, lol.
So! Without further ado... here's the story of Digi:
This is an idea that came to mind when I was feeling the DuckTales vibe. It’s an AU of what would happen if Della Duck was never Huey, Dewey and Louie’s biological mother, but instead Donald was their biological father.
The reactions of Donald and the triplets reading a DNA test of Donald, discovered and hidden by Della herself, that confirms that, by blood and DNA, Donald is their true parent will trigger a series of events that’ll lead to the family of knowing what secrets about himself that Donald has been keeping from his family as well as some guest starring friends of his (Panchito and Jose will be in this one too, don’t worry Three Caballeros fans).
As it turns out, the triplets were created from a machine that creates children by installing someone’s blood into the scanner. But there was a catch, the offspring, or offsprings, of whomever’s blood was used will be born to be the exact same gender as the person whose blood was used. So, if the triplets were boys, then the blood donor would have to be a male too. The reason that this machine was built was because Della is aromantic in mu AU, so she never fell in love, got married or was pregnant.
Donald’s taking this hard the most because he never knew about this, but I haven’t got much of my own headcanon on this show and its characters so just enjoy what you’re seeing here.
A little expert, so a little spoiler:
“This…t-this isn’t…real…right? Right??” Louie whispered, eyes wide with tears beginning to form in his eyes as Huey grabbed his shoulder with one hand and held the paper with the other.
“Boys?” Donald asked with concern as he walked over. “What’s the matter-”
He was cut off when he glanced at the DNA test that belonged to him. His heart skipped a beat when he read the words ‘Dna match 50%’ on the top of the paper, and looked at the matching charts below that made his jaw drop in shock.
“W-what…?” he whispered as he began to walk backwards, feeling panic as his heart beated faster in his chest.
“No,” Dewey said, grabbing Huey’s shoulder trying to be in denial that this was true. “No. No, this…t-this can’t be real. It just CAN’T. This is just some cruel joke that Mom made up, right? Right?! Tell us, Uncle Donald!” He turned his head to Donald as tears formed in his, Donald’s and Huey’s eyes. “PLEASE, TELL US!!”
“I…I…” Donald stuttered. He just couldn’t find the words that could explain what is happening right now.
“I…don’t know, Dewey,” Louie said shakingly. “These results seem…accurately legit…”
“If it really is legit, then that means…” Huey trailed off before looking back at their ‘Uncle’, whose arms were shaking in fear, shock and what looked like a bit of sadness. “D…d-d…Dad?”
All their hearts have dropped upon hearing that word. They couldn’t believe it. Donald couldn’t believe it. They really were his boys. His boys. They weren’t Della’s boys. They weren’t his nephews. They were his boys. His…his sons. It all made sense now! Ducklair’s baby machine could give you children, but the only catch was that the children would be born the same gender as the person who’s DNA sample is being used to create them. Since the triplets were born as boys, then that meant that they couldn’t be Della’s because if they were they’d be girls instead. He was so happy that they were born and was so focused on raising them and looking after them since Della died that he didn’t once question why they were born males. Those questions finally came into mind when the boys asked about their father, but…he didn’t expect this… He wasn’t expecting this… He…he…
“S-sons?” the older duck finally said with his breath growing heavily.
There was a bit of silence before the elevator dinged and the doors opened, revealing Dr. Gearloose entering the lab. The ducks turned around towards the chicken with watery eyes.
“Sorry I’m late,” he said with a huff. “Had to check the Gizmosuit to see if there were any bugs in it. Intern couldn’t possibly wait for another second to check in with me to inform me of whatever malfunctions that he would have made all by himself to make me take this long to-”
He was cut off when he noticed how the ducks were looking at him.
“What’s wrong with you four,” he said uncomfortably. “You look like you’re about to go on an emotional rollercoaster ride…”
He trailed off when he noticed the paper that the kids were holding…and the canister that it came from that he wasn’t supposed to let ANYONE see! His eyes widened and he swallowed before saying, “I’m so fired…”
