Neville as he’s chick-sitting his little half-sister, Nellie.

Nellie’s from his mom’s second marriage. The fact that they have similar sounding names is not a coincidence.
Unfortunatelly, Neville never knew his own dad, he was raised only by his mom, and he was already a teenager/young adult when she remarried. Neville’s mom knows that the relationship between herself and her son is far from ideal, but she has no idea how to fix it at this point, so this time she’s determined to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes she did back then with Neville.
So she will raise Nellie how she initally wanted to raise Neville back then before everything went wrong.

Also, whenever Neville visits them he have to play happy families, even though he feels like he doesn’t belong there.

Initially being blinded by jealousy — as her little sister got more parental love and attention than he ever did — he wasn’t exactly a good brother to her, but as both of them matured, their bond became stronger over time.

(Btw, the reason why they’ve got all those makeup stuff is because their mom works at Preenin’ Paradise, which is a beauty salon for birds.)
