Link is known to be capable of taking on any challenge. One has to wonder what could catch him off guard, and completely flatten him like this?
How do you think Link wound up a pancake in nothing but his underwear?
Was this the work of a powerful monster that threw Link so hard into the ground his clothes exploded off his compressed body? Maybe he was climbing a cliff and fell off, only to hit the ground at incredible speeds. It could be the work of a royal scientist using Link to test one of her latest inventions, only for things to go horribly wrong.
Maybe this was the work of a jealous Princess who just wanted some time alone from her extremely capable knight.
Regardless of what happened, I'm sure Link will be fine. He'll wake up eventually and be back to adventuring as usual.

Zelda finds herself flattened just like her knight. There's no way this is a coincidence...
Shortly after Link was found flattened into a pancake, the Princess is discovered to have suffered the same fate.
This mystery only gets deeper as time goes on. How do you think Zelda found herself sharing the same fate as Link? Could it be the Princess was attacked by a monster while her knight was away? Did Zelda fall from a castle tower after just waking up in the morning? Maybe she entered the royal scientist's lab at the wrong time to get caught in the middle of a mechanical failure?
Or maybe she tried exploring a dungeon on her own to prove she's just as capable as her silent knight.
Regardless of what happened, at least we know Zelda's okay. Link will be extra protective of his Princess after this mess.
