Jeremy does NOT like the attention his name suddenly garnered. A name like Ironside indicates someone, or multiple generations in his family history were Mossflorian Badgerlords, or at least recognized warriors suited to the name. And it never crossed Chucky's mind that Jeremy being a European Badger might attract unwanted attention. After all, European Badgers have been in Cascadia for over 800 years at this point, so no one really pays them any mind. But here in Corvalis Redstone Abbey, the Mossflower connection runs deep. In contrast, the North American Badger population of Cascadia shares no such history. Yes, plenty of them have made fine warriors, but they were never their own demographic. They were always just "Cascadians".
Many creatures, like this mouse family, come to research their heritage. Dinty has what is regionally referred to as "The Mossflower Look". And with that rather floral sounding maiden name, there's no mistaking her family's roots. If Brother Angus were in color, you'd see his Mossflower look too.
That's why I like throwing in the colored panels every once in a while, so we all get to see what these characters actually look like. If I switched off the color layer, Jeremy and Dynti would look the same as they do in the other panels.

Kevin is a Rabbit =p and much smaller then a hare besides, so I wonder about his roots in this setting. I never REALLY 100% settled on Kevins actualy bunny acestry aside from the fact he is a lop breed likely a minilop but that would most likely make him a holand or something... they orginated froma cross breed between a German big Lop and a smaller german chinchillla lop breed, and from there spread all over due to shedding less and having a pleasant, gentle temperament. they guy who created the breed then moved over to America and started the standard American Minilop there from there they spread to holland and a few other places establishing there own breeds.
I guess Kevin could be drawn from regular lop eared bunny stock XD he is still a child.

In Deadland you're Definitely a Lop but your true heritage is very much a mystery as Deadland was grabbing troubled kids from all over the universe at that time. But you're for sure one of the stronger characters and probably would be one of Toxy's Lieutenants as far as enforcement and protection went. That one of Sandy's favorite playtoys! :D
