Nat made sure the kids got their sweets before gathering them both for a big Christmas hug.
Miles wasn't used to this kind of affection, but Lapis was very content with being pampered this way.
Natalia is a lawyer and friends with Cyrene. One night, Nat decided to tune in to her friend's latest stream to see what Cyrene was up to. As it would happen, that night was when Cyrene was broadcasting her sparring match with Vera. While watching the stream, Nat happened to notice the adorable girl who was acting as a referee for the match.
Nat has always had a weak spot for cute things, especially kids.
Immediately, Nat started spamming Cyrene with messages about her little friend, asking who the girl was and why Cyrene had never introduced Nat to her. Eventually Cyrene replied to Nat and explained how she had met Lapis online. Lapis was a streamer and had asked to do a collab with Cyrene. Lapis also had a friend she streamed with named Miles. After the introductions were finished, Nat insisted on meeting Lapis and her friend, and insisted Cyrene help arrange this.
It took a few visits, but eventually Nat got to know Lapis and Miles pretty well while hanging out with them every so often. Nat grew pretty close to the kids, and the kids grew used to being pampered every time they saw her. As Christmas grew closer, Nat invited the two to spend the Holidays with her.
Miles was hesitant to accept this offer, but Lapis happily agreed and managed to persuade Miles to come along. Lapis adored spending time with Nat since the woman showered the girl with so much attention and praise. Everything was going to plan until Vera caught word of this arrangement. Vera was fully against the idea and didn't like how close Nat was getting to Lapis.
Nat knew Vera didn't like her and expected this kind of reaction. Nat suggested the kids only come for a quick visit and could leave after opening their presents. Vera agreed to this compromise but still didn't want Lapis to go at all.

Christmas Eve came and both Lapis and Miles were on their way to Natalia's house. Neither of the two had anything planned that night, so there was no limit on how long they could stay. Still, Vera insisted they leave within an hour and that Lapis shouldn't get comfy.
When the trio arrived at Nat's house, they were welcomed inside by Nat's tiny roommate and lead into the dining room. Nat quickly came to greet the kids and give them her usual hugs and cheek pinches. Time flew quickly and an hour passed before Nat could even grab the kids' presents. Vera started insisting that Lapis go home, but Nat was ready for that response and asked Vera to step into the other room to have a quick chat.
Vera knew there was nothing Nat could say that would change her mind on this matter, but still followed the lawyer into the other room.
About 20 minutes passed before Nat reappeared again, this time with her small roommate instead of Vera.
"Uhh... where did Vera go?" Asked Miles.
"Oh, the two of us talked for a bit. It took some convincing, but Vera eventually agreed to let you two stay the whole night!" Natalia replied.
"W-wait, you changed Vera's mind on something?? How is that-" Miles said, before being cut off.
"Vera said we can stay?!" Lapis exclaimed, jumping with excitement.
"Of course! Now, how about I go get some sweets for these two sweeties??" Nat replied.
Nat walked to the edge of the room to grab some candies out of a bowl. Skeptical, Miles walked towards the room that Vera had disappeared into. Suddenly, Nat called out in a gentle, yet firm tone.
"Miles, dear, it's not polite to go snooping into other people's rooms." Nat said.
Miles understood and backed away from the door. As many times as he'd been to Nat's house, he'd never seen what was beyond that one door. When he got close to it just now, Miles thought he could hear some machinery back there, and the muffled sound of someone laughing. Nat didn't give the boy any time to think, however, as she quickly grabbed him and Lapis and hugged them both closely.
"I promise you both, this will be the best Christmas you two have ever had!"
