For context the characters are from Kelaiah's A Rat's Empire, which is a soap opera where the women had a ton of rivalry. The client has commissioned a ton of artwork of the characters fighting before, even once few years ago from me.
As for what the animation is based on, the client showed me a clip from American Dad that parodied old soap operas.
