"Shopping trip P2/2"

Having gotten the medicine, the iguana-plant didn't hesitate to return home to their grove. The sight of the light splotches on their favorite tree made them sad to look at, but they knew those weren't going to be there much longer. They started gently spreading the medicine on the roots - wincing as they tasted it through their skin - and smiled as they knew their friend was going to be okay.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: on a sunny day in the forest, a sylveon was wandering around, giggling happily without a care in the world, however...they soon got lost in the forest and can't find their way out, starting to cry from this, they run in every direction possible, until they find somewhere they haven't been to, they look around worringly wondering if they are gonna be lost forever

L: Then, at last, something different: They come to a clearing in the forest, a grove of some sort, with lots of flowers and gorgeous trees in comparison to the ones the sylveon had been seeing until now, and even a small lake.

In addition, there seems to be someone else in the grove, tending to some of the plants! From where the sylveon is at, it's hard to make out any details about them, but they seem to be an anthro iguana.

S: the sylveon decides to walk over to the seemingly anthro iguana, hoping to find some help, but they were too shy to come any closer, they were whimpering tho so they could hear it

L: The iguana pauses as they hear that, and looks over at the sylveon. "Oh, hello! It's alright, you can come closer, everyone's welcome here as long as they try not to hurt the plants!"

S: the sylveon was extremely shy around new people, but hearing the iguana's gentle words made her come closer go them, then she speaks in a very soft voice
"H-h-hi..."

L: As she approaches, she's able to make out more details about the iguana. What she might have initially thought were darker green scales seem to actually be leaves, the "frill" on their back looks like it's made up of a bunch of tiny trees, and their tail has a flower on the end of it...

The "iguana" kneels down to be closer to the sylveon's level, smiling at her. "There you go, no need to be scared. I put in a lot of work to keep this place safe."

S: the sylveon notices all these things about the "Iguana" that she originally thought he was, she was still very shy, but decides to ask anyways
"What...exactly are you?"

L: "I'm a plant! I'm not sure what my species is actually called, I've never heard of any other sapient plants, so I named myself a "Groundskeeper flower". I grew out of that patch over there." He gestures to a nearby patch of other flowers, some of them looking similar to the one on his tail.

S: "Huh...that's kind of weird, but not in a bad way... well, do you have an actual name?"

L: "I don't, no. But, I've never minded that. After all, all my friends are plants, and it's not like they'd be able to say it, right?"

S: "Hmm, well...maybe I can give you a name, you look like...an Iggy, I think that name suits you" the sylveon giggles nervously, hoping they like the new name that she came up with

L: "Alright, cool! I'll go by Iggy, then!" Iggy wags his tail at that. "Oh, is it because I sort of look like an iguana?"

S: "Y-yeah! That's it, heh... oh, I should probably introduce myself too, how rude of me, my name is Sunshine, but everyone just calls me Sunny, I'm a sylveon" she wags her own tail a little, slowly starting to feel better about Iggy

L: "It's nice to meet you, Sunny! So, I heard you whining a minute ago... Was that because you were scared of me, or something else?"

S: "Oh, well... part of it was you at first, but it's mostly because, I'm lost... I was wandering around the forest and ended it somewhere unfamiliar, now I don't know where I am..."

L: "Aw... Well, don't worry, I know the way to the nearest town. If it's not the one you're from, you can at least get a better idea of what to do from there."

S: "That would be great, thanks so much Iggy" sunny looks around the place
"Wow, this place is beautiful... and so quiet... I wish I lived here, the noisy city can sometimes get to me... but I've been there all my life so, I'm used to it by now"

L: "I've visited the city a few times, I can't stand being there more than a few hours. It smells awful, and it's really loud... I only go there when I have to. This place is way better. And you can stay here as long as you want, I don't mind."

S: "Well, I'm in no rush to get home, apparently there's a fight that started right near my house, that's why i went to the forest to escape while I could... I have no doubt whoever is fighting is gonna go on for a while...maybe you can show me around this place?"

L: "Man, that sucks... But sure, I can show you around. There isn't a whole lot to see though, just some fruit trees, that big tree in the middle that I made into a sort of shelter for visitors, and that lake over there."

S: "Oh, cool...that tree is pretty protective, and there's a cute little lake right there, I do like a good swim on a hot summer day"

L: "I do too! Pretty good thing, too, since I also take care of the aquatic plants down there. It helps that I can hold my breath a long time, especially on a day like this. With how sunny it is, I'd guess I could hold it... Maybe an hour or so."

S: "An hour?!!?" the sylveon's mouth drops open at that
"Whoa, now that's impressive... I'm not much of an underwater person myself... I mainly stay on the surface when swimming, sometimes I get a little freaked out if I have to go under for some reason, but it's tolerable, I wouldn't know what my record is, since I don't typically stay down for more then 30 seconds"

L: "Well, it's not like you have to push yourself, just relaxing underwater is nice sometimes. If you want to practice, I can help, but you don't have to if you don't want to."

S: "I suppose some practice would be nice... and learning to enjoy being underwater would help too, especially on those really really hot days and I wanna stay cool... ok, let's do that then"

L: "Alright, let's head on over." Iggy brings Sunny over to the lake, and begins wading into the water. "Mmm, it feels pretty good today..."

S: Sunny wades into the water with Iggy as well
"Oooh, yeah that feels amazing! This is better then my pool at home!"

L: "I'm sure it is, it's nice and clean here. Safe to drink from, too." Iggy begins to swim once he gets far enough in for that.

S: "Safe to drink too? Wow, impressive" sunny takes a sip of the lake and smiles
"Mmm, it actually tastes pretty good"
she swims along side iggy

L: "I'm pretty proud of how great this place is, it wasn't doing so well when I first grew. At this point, you can hardly even tell it had any trouble!"

S: "Really? Huh, that's interesting... well you've done a great job at taking care of the place for sure"

L: "Thanks! Anyway, I feel like it's about time we actually went underwater now... If you're ready, at least."

S: "Oh dang it, I don't have my swim goggles, I may not have gone under that much, but i do know I need protection on my eyes"

L: "Not really sure what those are... I do have a box of stuff I've gathered up from cleaning up the forest, maybe you can find some in there. I was just going to get rid of it eventually anyway."

S: "You don't know what swim goggles are? Hmm, well lemme see if I can find them" sunny swims back and finds the box of stuff, and convient enough there's a pair of goggles in them, she takes them in her hands and swims back to Iggy
"These are swim goggles"

L: "Oh, perfect! Yeah, I don't need those myself, so you can just keep them if you want, and whatever else you like from that box too."

S: "Thanks, I'll check out the rest of that box later"
sunny puts the goggles on, looking far more cute then last time

L: "Ha, they look pretty good on you! And I suppose you're all ready to get started now, huh?"

S: "Hehe, thanks...and yeah I guess we're ready to go then"

L: "Alright, let's go!" Iggy takes a deep breath and dives underwater, waiting for Sunny to follow.

S: after a little hesitation, Sunny takes a deep breath as well and dives under too

L: Iggy's got his cheeks puffed up as he smiles at Sunny, and while he does briefly float up a bit from not swimming, seemingly fairly buoyant, he starts swimming deeper into the lake.

S: sunny's own cheeks puff up too, she whines a bit, feeling scared but he does follow iggy down deeper with bubbles trailing from her mouth

L: The lake at least isn't all that deep in the spot they're at, only going about 30 feet. Upon arriving, Iggy sets his hoof-like feet against the bottom, and roots extend into it from them, anchoring them in place so they don't float back up.

S: Sunny sinks down to be floating next to Iggy, she's nervous, but tries to stay calm, looking up at iggy with a fearful gaze, her face is red already

L: Iggy smiles at Sunny and pets her, hoping that'll help her keep calm for at least a little bit longer.

S: the pets do help calm down sunny a bit, leaning into his touch, she relaxes and looks around the lakebed to distract her, blowing a few bubbles

L: As Iggy had implied, there's quite a few plants down there too, enough that the lakebed in some spots is actually entirely covered by them!

S: sunny's eyes widen at the plants down here, she smiles at bit more at them, swimming about the lakebed to look at them, but by now her face is fully red, grunting in strain

L: Iggy follows her to keep an eye on how she's doing, slowly walking along the lakebed by repeatedly retracting and extending his roots.

S: sunny covers her mouth as she tries to distract herself, but it's not working, her face slowly turning blue

L: "Mm?" Iggy isn't sure Sunny should push herself much farther, and gestures toward the surface.

S: sunny looks up at the surface and bolts up there, not wanting to stay down any longer

L: Iggy fully uproots himself and swims after Sunny. Thankfully, surfacing doesn't take long, since the two aren't far underwater, and Iggy exhales as he surfaces.

S: sunny eventually surfaces as well, gasping heavily for air
"Hah...hah...I may suck at breath holding, but honestly that was kind of fun... I guess you being there with me helps"

L: "It was definitely nice to have someone with me for that, I think that was my first time not being alone while swimming. So, thanks for that!"

S: "Yeah, it was nice to not be all by myself when swimming, I enjoyed that very much, hehe!"

L: "Do you want to do another dive, or something else? We can probably find something you'd be interested in."

S: "Hmmm... I'm down for another dive if you are! Didn't really get a good look at those plants down there"

L: "Alright, sure! There's plenty to see down there, it'll take a lot of diving for you to find everything that's there."

S: "Oh really? Well let's do another dive then! You mind if I hold onto you while you take me back down? I wanna conserve as much of my air as possible"

L: "Yep, that'll be fine. Those tiny trees on my back are more durable than you probably think, you'd be able to hold onto those if you want. Or just my tail, that'll work too."

S: "I'll hold onto your tail for now" sunny then does so, getting a few deep breathes
"Ready when you are"

L: "Alright, hold your breath!" Iggy takes in and holds one more breath before diving back underwater, making sure Sunny would have time to hold her breath as well.

S: sunny then holds her breath before iggy dives underwater, smiling as he did

L: After swimming back down to the bottom, Iggy goes along just above the lakebed, showing Sunny around and making sure to go by plants he thinks she'll find interesting.

S: sunny moves up to hold onto iggy's tiny trees, still wanting to save her air as she looks at the cool plants, she smiles between her puffy cheeks, letting out a few bubbles at how amazing they look

L: Iggy is also taking the opportunity to check how the plants are doing during all this, and he smiles as they all seem to be doing fine.

S: sunny is feeling a lot more calmer this time, barely letting out air as she happily looks at all the plants, clearly enjoying herself, her tail is even wagging

L: Glad that Sunny seems to be doing much better than before, Iggy continues slowly swimming about the bottom of the lake. It's going a little deeper, but Iggy doesn't think Sunny will mind all that much right now.

S: sunny didn't seem to mind at all, happily bubbling as she continues to explore, she even gets off iggy to explore on her own for a while

L: Seeing Sunny swimming on her own, Iggy nods and follows her, letting her lead the way to whatever might interest her.

S: sunny trails off a little deeper to see the more beautiful looking plants, she brushes againest them softly, being extra careful not to damage them, her face is slowly turning fully red however

L: While Iggy notices Sunny's blush, he doesn't notify her or anything this time, not wanting to mess up her enjoyment just in case she doesn't actually notice her need for air yet.

S: with how happy sunny is, she doesn't realize she's low on air and just keeps exploring, managing to find all kinds of cool plants, but her face slowly turns blue and she still doesn't realize!

L: At this point, Iggy knows he shouldn't let Sunny be oblivious any longer. He taps on her, and points up at the surface with a worried expression. "Mmm!"

S: "Mmm?" sunny was confused on why iggy stopped her and more confused on why Iggy is worried, she was having fun, still not realizing she's getting lower on breath

L: "Sublnny, yoblu're tublrniblng blblue!" He gets under her, hoping she'll hold onto his back so he can bring her up quick.

S: "Whblat?!?! Mmm!" she finally realizes that she needs to breathe and whines before covering her mouth and holding onto Iggy

L: Iggy starts quickly swimming back toward the surface with Sunny. He's starting to feel a very slight urge to breathe himself, but he doesn't care, entirely focused on helping Sunny.

S: sunny whimpers out more bubbles as she hopes she'll get to the surface soon before it's too late

L: "Hblang ibln thblere..." They're most of the way to the surface now, going fast enough that their bubbles are trailing below them.

S: eventually they both surface and Sunny gasps heavily for breath
"Hah...hah...hah...phew...that was too close, I was having so much fun I didn't realize I needed air!"

L: Iggy exhales, breathing a little heavy for a moment. "Well, I suppose that was a pretty good way for you to practice, huh? That was a few minutes!"

S: "Wow! I never knew I was so good at holding my breath! Awesome! I think I've seen enough for now tho, I kind of wanna get back home and see if that fight is over, but then again it was pretty big, maybe I could...you know, stay with you for a while? Your real cool and I like you!"

L: "I like you too! I don't mind you staying, it'll be nice to have a guest for a while. Not many people come by here, and even fewer actually stay very long."

S: "Well that's their loss, thanks Iggy! I could use a nap after that adventure...I'm tired..."

L: "There's a bed I made in that big tree I mentioned earlier, you can head on over there. I'll be staying out, I've got more gardening to do."

S: "Ok, sounds good..."

and so, Sunny heads to the tree to get cozy in the bed, quickly falling asleep, she's in no rush to return to the big city, just peacefully content to be with her new best friend iggy
