columbus also didn't discover america and he almost got himself and his whole crew killed.

bah, he singlehandedly made Spain the richest nation in the world for 150 yrs for the price of 3 crappy ships...and your missing the historical and humorous point XD

he made spain the richest country by abusing his power and the well meaning of what was one if not the highest evolved culture on the planet. bottom note, he was a goddamn asshole and should be depicted as such.

I really doubt the civilization of then haiti was the most evolved culture on the planet....what he did was find a culture that was so behind on technology that others from europe could easily conquer then with just a few thousand troops...yes columbus was an ass...
but that has not bearing on the humor of this comic, which you dont seem to get....which is that men dont ask for directions XD

Also what makes it more funny is he wasn't discovering new lands, he was trying to find India and got lost. Hence why he called the natives Indians.

psthaw....if u wanna uncover hidden history, the myth he was going after spices is the biggest lie...he was GOING AFTER DRUGS, since both he and the monarchs of spain were opium users

Hidden? this wasn't hidden. That WAS why he left. What did you think he magically knew about a continent that wasn't there? Also they made opium IN Europe. That's why they had so much of it. India had spices and tea which were worth as much as gold practically and going all the way across Africa was a lengthy journey, they knew the world was round so Columbus was hired to lead an expedition to see if they could go that way to hit India. He landed in the Americas and believed he had found India since the people were brown. It wasn't until a few years later they realized they had actulay discovered a new world rather than a backway to India.

I said culturally evolved, native american tribes (north and south) had a rich culture. Especialy the mayans during the 8th centruy. A lot of information, treasure and artefacts were lost to the future when the spanish invaded and almost drove them to extinction. Something that might or might not have been able to be done less destructive, if columbus would have acted differently.

Columbus can only be held responsible for the West Indies...Pizarro and Cortez were responsible for what you say, some 700 yrs after the greatest period of the Mayans...one could also say they stopped a lot of needless blood sacrifices in Mexico (altho the diseases they carried claimed far more lives than they stopped....contra the Spanish disease (syphilis) that they brought back to Europe claimed an equal number of lives throughout Europe and Asia

Pizarro and Cortez might not have gone there, if it weren't for Columbus who re-found the place. But that can't be said for certain, therefore I said 'might or might not'.

In any case, I consider destroying your own culture or civilisation not as bad as destroying or being destroyed by a foreign culture or civilisation.

eh culture is destroyed only if those who belong to it allow it to be destroyed.  The Aztecs for example could easily have dispatched Cortez, outnumbering him 100,000 to 1 but for their own myths that thought Cortez was a god.  One could say America is destroying the culture of the world simply by having a pervasive culture that is putting mcdonalds and coke everywhere

Yes, because if someone else destroys your culture you can be mad at them, as opposed to mad at yourself. Either way precious culture is destroyed. Just one way you get to blame someone other than yourself.
