I wonder who's the dumb and who's the dumber? I mean, in the movie, I think the dumber was Jim Carrey's character because besides being a dumb, he was an asshole (more selfish or self-centered) and an annoying imbecile.
In the case of this comic strip, neither of them understood the sign... but is it supposed to be the other one the dumber because in addition to not understanding it he acts with confidence instead of just doubt? I mean, something in the style of Socrates, who believed he was ignorant, but it turned out that the rest of those around him were just as ignorant as he was but they were more than him because they believed they were wise. Mmm... then it could be... although he's the one who comes up with an idea/solution instead of just sticking with the initial belief that you couldn't enter unless you came in groups of +18 people XD
