I'm fairly certain these seals keep Twilight's power under control. They seem to respond to her behavior, not his. So breaking a seal will likely cause her power to skyrocket. XD

If I were to take a shot in the dark, either he's going to grow one size like he did in the show, or he possesses some kind of magical ability that needs to be sealed away. Either way, this should be interesting.

I think some people forgot that the last time we saw those seal cords heat up it was when Twi was about to overload. Whatever Spike is unsealing, it's probably to do with Twi, not Spike.

Considering his claw is already starting to transform in that last panel, I'm thinking the seals heating up when Twi was overloading is because her aura was just that massive. If she had actually blown up, those seals might have gone too, releasing Spike's true form.
Obviously all conjecture, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens next!
