Given alolas number of volcanos and rather warm climate, surskit have become lava skaters, a vent from the front of their spiral shell dispurses excess gasses which tend to ignite when out in the volcanic atmoshpere, over time from skating on the lava they build up stone armor. given the extreme conditions, surskit have lost their eyesight, but have instead traded it for thermal sensing allowing them to see like a thermal imaging camera
