About twenty years ago, in the spring of 2005 (Goodness gracious, twenty years already?!), I made this drawing of Amy in purple and gold showing absolute excitement. I was experimenting with posing at the time. So some of the stuff could've come out better. I also inadvertently colored the toes of her shoes purple when I intended to make them gold. As a result, they came out copper.
As I've improved quite a bit two decades later, I decided to make a redraw of this old thing, with some changes, additions, improvements, and did I mention a vibrant red fox? One change you may notice involves the hairs on her forehead. That's along the lines of what they're going to look like when the Sonic 4 movie comes out two years from now. As I was watching the Sonic 3 fan event back in December, I was fully hoping that Amy would appear in the mid-credits scene. As soon as she did, the entire theater just erupted in excited and elated cheers. Being the die-hard Amy fan that I've been, I was among those who just went full-blown haywire, cheering, yelling, and shouting Amy's name in pure and absolute jubilation! Gosh, what a moment that was! Of course, I knew better than to spoil it. Since I wanted to give it some time, it wouldn't be until now that I figured I could spill the beans about her being in the next film.
Seeing Amy in the Sonic 3 mid-credits scene is currently my favorite moment at a movie theater, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's beaten by the Sonic 4 fan event.
So with all that, I thought I'd draw Amy going crazy upon the news that she's going to be in the Sonic 4 film. Nearby is her close friend Lisa, who's birthday is today, celebrating with her.
Now Lisa is 27-years-old today, and that's how old I was when I adopted her. Interestingly enough, Lisa was 19 when I adopted her. Carrying on the coincidences was that I was 19 and still reeling from a horrible 2009 when I was first introduced to her. May 4th will be eight years to when I took Lisa in. Her bright, cheerful, and sunny smile continues to fuel The Light of Hope always shining there in my heart as well as Amy's heart along with their hearts of those they're close to.
