But what is it about? I'll pretend you want to know more and tell you regardless whether you do or not. It started as a fun idea to place my eagle characters into an 80s action TV-show / movie setting, kind of adapting their existing canon identities and stories into this new universe. I thought it would be cool to have a poster of this fictional show/movie where I could feature some of my friends as side characters and villains.
But then I started to actually think about what the story would be about and an idea for an episode began to form in my head. Soon I found myself actually worldbuilding and writing down the ideas for this episode, and slowly it began to form into an actual novel. I had never actually written anything proper before, but now I had officially began my foray into being a writer and I found myself enjoying the creative process of it. I've been working on the story for about 14 months or so, bit by bit between my arts, and so far I'm 11 chapters in and about 60k words deep. I don't yet know when it'll be finished, but hopefully sooner rather than later!
If you're a fan of 80's era action movies and shows like Miami Vice, then this ought to be something up your alley! It's a very character driven story following three vigilante eagles trying to do some good between the law and the lawless, where ends justify the means and lives are always in peril. I won't go too into it right now till I actually have something close to coming out, but if the premise sounds interesting, then keep an eye out for it in the future!
This poster was done by my fantastic artist friend Bombird and I'm forever grateful for bringing the idea into visual form. I wouldn't have started writing the episode if it wasn't for the poster, and I knew there was only one person to do it. I may be biased but he kicked it out of the park. The poster (and story) also features his heron character Henri and his secretary bird Clara, who I have shamelessly stolen into my canonical universe.
