Many people have asked me why I don't post anything on Fur Affinity? This here is why.
For starters, FA hates AI, but they also hate even regular art without AI if you're known to have used AI in the past. I use AI a lot, but also do some digital work without it. I would love to post uncensored original digital work on FA, but I can't post anything on there without a horde of screaming losers with child-brains crying that it's all AI, reporting every image regardless of content. I could draw a butt on a sheet of lined paper and take a bad phone picture of it, and they would report it as AI.
Above is the crude original sketch that eventually became the Braixen TG sketch I now have in my Scraps. (Currently removed on FA because a smooth-brain reported it as AI).
The version here, also posted to FA, was done in Photoshop using basic paint and layer tools with an oil paint filter on it to smooth it out. You can do that kind of thing without AI help. People have been doing it for years, including me since 2008.
I'm tired of having to defend myself against this. It's not all AI you witch-hunters. I had several pictures taken down due to overzealous Anti-AI wierdos reporting everything with a bad photoshop filter on it. I've had accounts banned that didn't have a single AI image in them. I've had artwork created during the pandemic taken down, even one that was originally posted in... 2009! What AI was I using in '09?
Photoshop is a legit way to make things that does not require AI. AI looks like it does because it copies the same lazy art and photo-editing styles people have been using for years. Please reconsider your life choices if you're so intent on reporting everything as AI.
Besides that, AI is going to win this battle. It will only get better and better until it is impossible to tell what is traditional art and what is not. AI is the future in the same way that cars took over for horses. Nobody can stop it. It's accessible to everyone. I'm sorry, but that's just how things work. It will replace me as well, but frankly I'm excited to see what's ahead, not terrified.
If they keep this up, Fur Affinity and other sites like them are going to have to resort to mailing film photographs of rock carvings to each other, since it's the only thing they'll be able to prove is traditional art.
I generally agree with your aversion toward modern Luddites, but don't overrate artificial neural networks (which some people call "AI" for some reason). They won't replace artists "in the same way that cars took over for horses" (mostly because it's an extremely old technology way past its saturation point, and it won't "only get better and better"). At best they will replace painters in the same way conveyor belts and CNCs obsoleted an army of people standing behind endless rows of lathes and milling machines: they took over the bulk of the most non-critical, low-complexity, high-volume production. Neither lathes and milling machines, nor turners and millers went away - in fact, they are among the most high-paying jobs nowadays. It's just that now they work on one-of-a-kind state-of-the-art stuff, like spaceship parts. It's the same with artists.

There are still people working with horses, but these have become luxury jobs with a specialized skillset. In the same way regular Artists will still be around, but I think it will be restricted to classical arts like painting and sculpture, rather than digital arts like what we've been seeing since the dawn of the internet. The best will survive, I'm sure, but the average joe who just dabbles with art or hasn't practiced their craft enough will be out of a job. This includes myself, but I'm just waiting for someone to invent an AI holodeck.

I'm surprised FA even bothered to give you a reason for the ban/takedowns. I was permabanned after posting there for 10 years without them giving a reason in late 2021.
Any reason they give is an excuse for something else. They make up rules if there isn't one to ban you. They have no sense of justice or fairness, and it's not ignorance it is blatant malice.
It's possible it's the quality of your art. Some of the "artists" work together to get other artists banned if they think your art might make theirs look bad by comparison. It's for money or for power. I notice they go after the most skilled artists who aren't in their club. They can only destroy

The same people even found some work in e621 that someone posted and reported it until it was taken down as well. No AI at all, The original was posted in 2021. I have always been very open that I use whatever tools are available. I can do basic sketching if I need to, but the majority of what I do is CG models and photoshop, and recently I've been improving them or creating them with AI tools. I don't do it with everything I make, but I do use it a lot now that it's available. Not all of it looks the best, but sometimes I sacrifice quality for speed. It's always a trade off.
However using any AI at all is enough nowadays to get added to the list of known "witches" that use AI, and make you a target for witch hunting anti-AI bros.

When I was permabanned from FA, after 10 years of posting there and with a few thousand watchers, they refused to give me a reason. It was also a witch hunt. It sounds like the AI thing was an excuse for them. FA explicitly refuses to give me any reason for my permaban. e621 is the same as FA how they treat artists, in some ways worse considering my art was being uploaded there without knowing it at first.
All of the AI artz are trained on e621 models and tags, so my being e621 blacklisted actually kept all my artz out of the public AI models.
It's worth noting also that IB has specific rules relating to AI artz ya upload. I think that's for AI art that is without editing or with only photoshop corrections. I think if you're using the AI for certain elements it's no different than using the built-in rigs that the regular drawing softwares like Clip Paint Studio have, but I don't know enough about AI to be able to follow the rules here yet. It would be a bit of a project for me to look into it and learn all the terms. I do have a local AI generation software on my machine that I was testing about a year ago, mostly to see which artist names it recognized (artist names are banned from inkbunny AI art uploads btw). It's important to know how software really works when there is so much slander against it~! :3
