ROMÂNĂ
Întâi martie e o zi veselă în România. E o amintirică drăguță pe care se dăruiește femeilor. Ea reprezintă începutul primăverii și se numește "mărțișor". Luna asta, iarna se îndepărtează și țăranii încep să semene pentru hrană. E adevăratul început anului agrar. Roșul și albul reprezintă vara și iarna, și moneda de argint (sau aur) e în locul Soarelui. În acest desen, am pus o ursoaică, căci România are foarte mulți urși, și un câmp de floarea soarelui, pentru că am văzut multe de ele acolo.

1º de março é um dia alegre na Romênia. Tem uma lembrancinha que se dá pras mulheres nesse dia. Ela representa o começo da primavera, e se chama "mărțișor". Neste mês, o inverno tá indo embora e os camponeses começam a semear para a comida. É o verdadeiro começo do ano agrário. O vermelho e o branco representam o verão e o inverno, e a moeda de prata (ou de ouro) está no lugar do Sol. Nesse desenho, coloquei uma ursa, porque a Romênia tem muitíssimos ursos, e um campo de girassóis, porque vi muitos deles por lá.

ENGLISH
The 1st day of March is a joyful day in Romania. There's this little gift people give to women on this day. It represents the beginning of Spring and it's called "mărțișor". In this month, Winter goes away and the peasants start to sow for their food. This is the true beginning of the agrarian year. The red and white represent Summer and Winter, and the silver coin (or golden) stands for the Sun. I put in this piece a bear, because there are many many bears in Romania, and a sunflower field, because I saw many of those flowers in Romania.
