I do have a couple of ref sheets for this AU I am cooking up. However, rather than a plain-colored background, I decided to draw a background that fits the theme of the current setting.

In this case, it is a snippet of a children's pizzeria in this AU called "Banjo Buster's Pizza Playhouse", which was founded in 1965. I wanted to go for a gritty/dystopian look sort of like in the OG show combined with a few hints as to where this pizzeria is located (note the mountains and the black bear on the mural).

Overall, this turned out pretty decently. As for the animatronics here....errr...if the interior of the building looks like this, then the animatronics might be a bit...old. Yeah, let's just say they're old. Yeah, this is a totally normal pizzeria. No eldritch horror is behind this place in order to lure children so it can assimilate them and wipe the memories of their families. Nope, nothing wrong here! /s
