Ever wondered how Fathom got his namesake? Well, this level of Tomb Raider 2 had at least a little something to do with it! :3
It's no secret I love the classic TR games, TR2 especially, and the water levels indeed are especially a treat for me. There's something so... eerie, yet alluring about them. The call of the void. So terrifying, so vast, everything in your body telling you to turn around. And yet, despite that, you go anyway. For thrill, for adventure... maybe just because you can. Foolish, perhaps... but, well, the darkest places hide the most exquisite treasures. The gold, twinkling ever so faintly amongst the dark. The fire... burning ever so faintly under the depths. Orange and blue. The yearn to explore~
It's funny how this level may have single-handedly caused my on-going thalassophobia and galeophobia. But despite that... I love the ocean. And sharks! It's a constant struggle to reconcile this, just as it is for fire and water to coincide, as Fathom must do. But no matter. In any case, this shark picked the wrong folf to try to snack on. And once he's harpooned, only deeper into the depths shall I go. Gotta get the Seraph before Marco Bartoli, after all ;3
