Chaos groans, shaking a bit as he picks himself up and out of bed. He wasn’t sure why he was feeling so sore that day but it hurt just a bit to move around. All he could really do was sit there in bed, stretching best he rubs at the back of his neck. Trying to work out all the kinks in his body. His memories were just a bit hazier than normal too. He did remember going to that party a few days back, but outside of that there wasn’t all too much there. Eventually though he just shrugs it off. He probably just had a bit too much fun, it likely wasn’t that big of a deal. So ignoring it he gets his things together for the morning and starts to get to work. Making his way towards the kitchen to make something to eat he noticed something on his calendar that he didn’t see before. “Toonsday?” He questions reading over the big blocky lettering that had actually taken up the entire month. He crosses his arms and frowns. Sure it was harmless but he couldn’t help but wonder where this thing came from. It was just strange to see that appear in his house, but he doesn’t think too much about it.
Getting started he cooks up a nice and easy breakfast. Just a bowl of cereal and a few other things as he sat himself down on the kitchen table. Grabbing the remote for the nearby TV he flicks it on, leaning on his hand as he watches the screen. Maybe it was in his head, but as he found himself staring at the screen in front of him he couldn’t help but notice that everything seemed just a bit brighter than normal. It was barely noticeable at first. But the longer he watched the more he noticed how saturated all of the colors looked. “Huh.. Guess they’re using some kind of new camera or something.” Chaos muses aloud, leaning on his hand, keeping his gaze locked ahead on the screen. His mind raced to really just figure out what was happening in front of him. It all just felt ever so slightly off. Like it was more than just the camera. The colors even seem to spill out into the world around him. He just couldn’t place it. Any time he tried to think harder on it, something in the back of his mind would slowly push those thoughts down just enough so it didn’t bother him.
Eventually he gives up on it. Simply shrugging and watching the news. Mostly just keeping it on as background noise as he ate. Some weird story about a fireman saving some cat in a tree. Must be a slow day if they feel the need to report on something like that. Kinda weird too, but whatever. Chaos just kept eating, trying to get these weird thoughts out of his head. Thinking those weird nerves would just fade away after a bit. As he finishes up eating he turns off the TV in the middle for some kind of paint. Making his way towards the bathroom he hopped into the shower. Washing himself down to try and clear his mind he murrs softly. Staring down at the drain as he watches the water dribble down his fur. Though as he stares he can’t help but frown, watching as strange, dark liquid seems to pour off his fur. It almost looked like some kind of ink. Did someone paint his fur or dunk him in something? Shaking his head he grumbles under his breath, reminding himself to talk with his friends later about this. Chew them out a bit for whatever the hell they did to him.
After a good bit he stretches once more and looks into the mirror. Checking to see if there was any of that weird inky crap still in his fur. Smiling a bit he nods, not seeing anything. In fact he swore it looked like his fur was practically glowing. Maybe it was some weird bending of the light in the mirror but it even looked a little bit like he had a weird black outline around him. As he turns away from the mirror he can’t help but laugh a bit at that thought. Thinking it made him look a bit like some weird cartoon or something. But obviously that couldn’t be the case. It was just that message getting to him again. Making his way out of the bathroom he once again noticed how much brighter everything looked. Some of the already bright paints in his house looked to be glowing as well, while some of the darker colors seemed more inky in a way. Once again there was.. That slight sense of confusion in the back of his head. Feeling like there was.. Something off but he just can’t place a paw on it.
The outline around his body grows a good bit thicker as he thinks to himself. He did still have work today so he couldn’t sit around too much but as he made his way out he tried to piece together a bit more of what happened the previous night. It was still pretty hazy of course, but he could feel bits and pieces starting to come back. Sitting in his car he closes his eyes. Remembering that he had met up with a few friends after the party, and they were going somewhere. But that was it, nothing else seemed to be coming back yet. Leaning on his hand he starts the car he heads down the street. Passing by a few groups of people. Once again looking brighter than normal, he laughs a bit to himself. “Hehe~ Maybe it really is Toonsday.” He muses aloud to himself, despite knowing no one could hear him he still felt like somewhere at least someone laughed at his little pun. He wasn’t all too sure why though, but it was a nice thought.
Pulling up to his workplace Chaos groans slightly, making sure to grab his outfit out of the back he starts up towards the front doors. The store he had managed to pick up a job at appeared to be having a sale or something, he quickly noticed the growing line outside of the store. Various people were all chatting eagerly among one another. Whispering about something, and once again he takes notice of the black lines that seemed to encompass their bodies. Passing by them he does manage to pick up a few words here and there. People talking about.. Toon pain oddly enough. Chaos eyes them curiously but does his best to not be caught eavesdropping but he also couldn’t help but wonder what the hell they were selling here that got so many people out there. Rubbing the back of his head he quickly slips inside, making his way to the break room he checks in and grabs what he needs for the day. As he gets to stocking up the shelves. Though as he’s doing so he notices one last shipment was coming in. Which was weird, usually they were done by this point of time. Though knowing it would probably be up to him to get everything in. Stepping into the shipment area he watches as huge. Burly dogs step out of the truck. Each of them smoked on what he could only see as a cartoonishly large cigar. The smoke almost seems to swirl around them and float towards Chaos. Though as his head starts to spin he steps forwards, coughing a bit and waving it away as he looks between the two of them he offers a hand out. “Uh hello there, I take it you two are here for the delivery?” He questions as one of the dogs grunts and grabs his hand.
“Yep, got everything right ‘ere.” It remarks squeezing his hand tightly, not only cutting off circulation. But also almost seeming to make his fingers bloat out. Swelling up in size as he winces as a small, dull pain shoots through his palm. Looking down he watches as the fur on his fingers discolors, turning from a bright white to a deep black. Fingers turning nice and bulbous. As the dog finally lets go the spike on the back of his hand suddenly springs back, wobbling around like it was made of rubber as he pulls his hand back. Giving it a few rubs. Completely unaware of the changes that jumped from one hand to the other. Fingers swelling up into three digited fat paws. Each one is spiked with a soft rubbery spike. Looking up towards the load that was coming in he watches in a mix amazement and horror as these massive dogs carry out boxes that were at least twice his size with little to no effort. Setting them right down in front of him the two beasts grunt once more and turn to leave. Popping the cigars into their maws and giving him a short wave before getting back in the vehicle. Looking towards the boxes Chaos frowns, Crossing his arms as he thinks how to do this. There were some tools he could use to wheel them out. But he could tell none of them would fit the boxes onto them. Those dogs didn’t have much issue carrying them though. Maybe it was easier than it looked? He thought this to himself with a grin. Rolling up his “sleeves” a bit he bends down a bit grabbing the box as he starts to lift it up. Grunting loudly as he tries to lift it up.
Pulling a good bit on the box he wiggled his body, grunting as he tried to pick it up, struggling quite a bit. After a few seconds he manages to get it off the ground slightly. Though he loses his footing, sliding forwards as his grip slips. Paws right under the box which slams down on his feet. Making him yelp as he spins and turns around, quickly dragging his feet from under the box. Making them quickly spring back. Though it was apparent they were already quite swollen as well. He could see them pulsing, swelling up in size as his paw pads spread out over his feet. Oddly enough it didn’t seem to hurt at all. If anything it just filled his body with an ever so slight, dull throbbing. Wiggling his paws around he smiles, still having feelings in them, even if they had grown at least five times larger. Eventually wobbling to his feet he gets used to the struggle of moving with them. Also noticing all the weight on his arms seemed to have stretched them out. They dangled down near his lower half still pulsing too as he gave his hands a few shakes.
He knew he had to try and figure this out. Crossing his arms with a small frown, he walks around the boxes. Pressing himself up against the back and begins to push hard. Grunting and wiggling as he firmly shoves his form against it. It took a few pushes but he finally felt it give. Looking down towards the ground he does notice the box was leaving behind a streak of black paint on the ground. Looking like whatever was inside, he might have busted some of them open when trying to lift it up. Hoping no one would notice he keeps pushing, once it was to the unpacking area he heads back and starts to push the other ones. It takes a good bit of time. By the end he’s practically drenched in sweat. Or maybe he got some of that paint on him, cause they were inked a good bit as well. Shaking himself off he reaches a hand up, wiping it across his brow as he smiles. “Well, there’s the hard part out of the way.. Should just have to get these to the shelves and we’ll be good.”
Taking the top off of the box Chaos leans in a bit, staring at the inside of the box curiously, Staring down into the box he keeps his gaze locked on the inside, and in specific the copious amounts of paint lining the insides of the box. All of them looked familiar.. He knew he'd seen these somewhere before. But he just couldn’t remember where. Shaking his head he chuckles a bit to himself, of course he remembers now. It was playing on the commercial in his house. He also remembered hearing the people outside talking about it. Though deep in the back of his mind there was something he felt he was forgetting. Reaching a paw up to his head he wipes it across his forehead. Spreading a good bit of the paint across his head that quickly soaks up into his body. Not seeming to affect his body quite yet. Though his head does grow a bit more cloudy, it was a bit hard to think clearly. Though the husky doesn’t seem to notice quite yet as he starts to unpack the boxes, picking them up and carrying them out towards the main room. Looking towards some of his coworkers he doesn’t seem to mind how strange they all looked. All of them have different strange body types, stretched out or bloated limbs. Toony.. Yeah toony would be the best way to describe it. Which strangely enough seemed to be a recurring theme that day. But he does his best not to think about it. Probably just a coincidence or something.
While stacking up a few of the boxes he finds himself falling back into thought, just going through the motions as he thought to himself. His mind drifting back to last night again, and what he and his friends had been doing after the end of the party. He remembered someone mentioning they had found a weird tape or something. Cleaning out their attic. Some old cartoon or something. The three of them decided to head back to their place to watch it, after all the night was still young and they were all pretty hammered by that point. They weren’t ready for the fun to end quite yet. They did watch the tape and he remembered that much but everything aside from that it was still cloudy. But the name Pudge did come to mind. Maybe a character from the tape.. He’d have to look into that later. For now he continued to line the shelves with the cans of leaky black paint. Which had begun to pour over the tops, leaking down onto the shelves. Soaking up into the wood which slowly grew brighter, warping and thickening as thick black lines appear around the edges. Reaching a paw out he runs his own cartoony hand across the edges of it, feeling the wood squish and warp from the weight of his paws. Seeming to twist further as he tilts his head again. It was such a strange feeling, the way it just pushed down with no resistance. Pulling his paw back he’s a bit surprised by how it was able to support the cans, but give so easily at his own paw.
Once the shelves were sufficiently stacked he crossed his arms, smiling a bit at his works. He couldn’t help but feel a strange surge of pride shoot through his body as he huffs softly and nods. It was a simple job but oddly enough getting this out to the public made him happy, like he was doing some amazing job only he could do, and that might as well be the case. Though it was just paint.. Why did he feel so great about it? As he thinks on his he finds himself making his way back to the other boxes. Grabbing another set of paint cans and making his way back towards the rest of the shelves. By this time the shop had opened up properly, various toons pouring in, all of them talking to one another. Chattering as they ignore practically everything else in the store. Making a b-line straight towards the shelves that held the paint cans. Within moments Chaos watched as all of the cans he had carefully stacked were quickly taken away. Some of the customers even opened the cans right then. Lifting them up and dumping them right onto their bodies. Coating their bodies in the paint. Right away Chaos worries about having to clean all of that up, how much work he’s going to have to put into all of that. But as he stares at the ground he notices that none of the paint gets onto the floor. Seeming to be sucked up into their bodies in a matter of mere moments.
Chaos watched on as their bodies just seemed to swell in size. Growing to absolutely massive sizes. Stomachs bloating out, paws growing absolutely massive, pads squishing against the ground. A deep blush covering his face as he starts to back up, realization almost seeming to flicker across his face for just a moment. Realizing what was happening as he looked down towards his hands. Feeling his body start to shake slightly. Stumbling back Chaos reaches a paw up to his head. Smearing paint all the way down his muzzle. “H-huh?” He questions, looking down towards his paw as he steps back. Dropping all of the paint across the ground. Soaking up into his feet and causing them to push out another few sizes, absurdly large now Chaos turns and makes a mad dash for the break room. So many thoughts racing through his mind as he just tried to make sense of what was happening, trying to even understand how his body was changing. None of this made any sense. But once again there was that name in the back of his head. A name that only seemed to make more sense as he looks down towards his fat limbs… Pudge.
Closing the break room door behind him he shakily lets out a sharp breath. Doing his best to calm his body down. Reaching his hands up he had realized his face had started to change as well. The front of his snout pushes out a fair bit, bulbous thing twitching around as a small whine leaves his mouth. Hands reaching up to feel over his nose. Giving it a few quick squeezes, feeling it squish and mold under his hand. Though as soon as he lets go it quickly springs back to his normal snout. A small huff leaving his new mouth while feeling over it. “G-gosh.. T-this feels so weird..” He mutters to himself, his voice sounding really weird, light but also kinda dopey. Seating himself in a chair he looks over to the mirror sitting right above the wash station. Finally getting a good look at himself, his pointed ears lengthening before his very eyes as they twitch and wobble on the top of his head. Reaching a hand up he pushes them off, and like his snout gives them another few gropes. A part of his mind just trying to understand and get used to his new body. While doing so he could feel another tingling feeling fill his body. Though as it shoots up his spine he first feels his tail change, plumping out as it turns a bright blue, like the fur now covering his arms and ears. Black fur covers his nose and eyes, hair growing out into long black dreads. The longer he stares at himself. Watching a familiar looking rubbery spike grow out of his chest, yellow fur sprouting all around it, spreading across his chest and gut.
As he’s standing there he can feel his mind clouding once more, though with that cloud came another surge of memories flowing into his mind. Remembering the time they spent watching the VHS tape. Remembering what it was, and what came after. It had been a strange show. Something about a Tooncario looking to make more friends, wanting to show off his wares, though all the other toons weren’t really interested in his pain. After all they didn’t need toon paint since they were already toons. Though he soon found a way to sell his paint to any and all others who truly needed it. That’s when everything started to get weird. Chaos could remember the TV stretching out, ink seeming to drip out the sides. Yet no matter how far it stretches the screen never seems to crack or break, it only seems to stretch as a paw pushes its way outside of the screen, stepping out into the room. A pool of paint right under him as he pushes more and more of his body out past the screen. The massive cartoony Lucario smiling down towards him all the furs staring up in shock at them. Giggling happily he offers them a quick little wave. Stepping forwards as he kneels down. “Hmmm~ having a lot of fun tonight?” He asks with a dopey little giggle, standing back up. “Thanks for reaching out by the way!~ Been trying to get out of there. After all, no one in toon town really needs my help. But all of you guys~” He holds his paws out with a smile. “Your world could use a nice new coating of paint. I just know it’ll make you nice and happy.” As he explains his gaze slowly turns downwards towards Chaos in specific. Who could only stare back, something caught in the back of his throat as he just stares. Trying to think of something to say or how to make sense of this. The tooncario just smiles and leans in. Pressing his snout up against Chaos’s “Hehehe~ I think you’ll be the perfect one to help me take care of all of this Pudge~” He leaves a nice firm smooch on the edge of his snout. Already feeling a wave of exhaustion pouring over his body. “But how about I show you a good bit of what my stuff can do?” He questions, not even waiting for a reply from the slowly drifting husky. Picking up a bucket of paint from somewhere on his person he splashes it onto the two people on either side. Coating them in paint. Almost instantly it soaked up into the form. Creating a thick black line around their bodies. Each and every inch of their bodies stretch and warp as they transform and bloat out into two massive lucarios, nice and toony just like the one who had come out of the TV. The two of them giggle happily, looking over themselves and smiling wide. The main Tooncario leans in, pressing his snout against Chaos’s once again. “Hope you enjoy your Toonsday.. Pudge~”
“Pudge..” Pudge says to himself as he comes out of his daze. Smiling a bit and hopping to his big paws as he looks over himself. Beaming happily while exploring his body. “Ohhh wow~ I’m still sitting around?” He asks with a giggle, lightly tapping his head with a small shake of his head. “Silly me~ I have to get back to work after all!” He beams happily, the silly tooncario knew he still had a lot of work to do, so much paint to sell and spread all over. He knew it would take time, he couldn’t do it all in one day. He had so much work to do. Yet despite the daunting task he couldn’t help but feel so excited for all of it. Making his way out he quickly gets to stocking the shelves, juggling the cans around like it was nothing. Really putting on a show as he wobbles around on his paws. Of course he still kept up with his work. Stacking cans on cans, though they were snatched up as soon as they touched the wood. Giggling happily he steps back, looking to the ever growing amounts of boxes that lay in his way. But he wasn’t too worried. Toonsday would last for a very long time~
