Fangy was one of the 15 lab cats who escaped due to staff negligence.
A peace-loving cat yet utterly incapable of surviving on his own, he initially entered ShadowClan only to be nearly immediately expelled—his missing claws on all four paws rendered him useless in both hunting and battle.

Some time later, a SkyClan patrol found him and brought him to their leader. Though she wasn’t too pleased at the thought of an extra mouth, thanks to Tree’s intervention, she accepted him into the clan and assigned him the role of “Gatherer.” In addition to his duties as an Apprentice, he was responsible for collecting the prey caught by other warriors as well as gathering herbs for the Medicine cats.
Although he was accepted into the clan and kept his name, many clanmates—especially the younger generation—mockingly call him SoftyPaws.
Despite all his shortcomings, life in the lab allowed him to learn a bit of the Dogs’ language and understand the nature of humans. The ear tag will always remind him of where he came from and set him apart from the true warriors.
