Day 24 of CuteGirlTober2024 turned fashion study - Lolita

I know, big surprise, huh? Haha. To be fair, I do like this style (I actually own two lolita-styled dresses) so of course I had to squeeze it in a few times. But this is probably it. Well, technically I got one planned later that is an offshoot of lolita, but it doesn't count, haha.

So I said I would explain a bit more about the style. Think an old china doll. There you go, lol. Okay, seriously now. First off to get the elephant out of the room, it is not really attached to the book by the same name. In Japan, it's more maidenly, doll-like and cutesy. And more on the innocent side (even erololita, which is a more "sexy" style, is extremely modest). It has a number of substyles but in short most tend to have a head accessory, cute blouse, A-styled dress or skirt that hits around the knees, a pettiskirt to help give the full appearance to the skirt, knee high socks or stockings, and mary jane or similar shoes. Modesty is important. And while accessories are beloved, it's important to have a concise look.

These are more of guidelines, though. Some substyles are gonna have their own looks. And while the early days of the lolita community were VERY strict on the rules, it's become more lack over time generally.

For this, I did a traditional or "old school" style of lolita. (Not to be mixed up with classic lolita, which is a victorian lady sorta look.) More simple design as printed fabrics weren't as common back then and such. A bit flumpier in a sense. But still cute and frilly though not overly so.

And featuring a laperm kitty, one of the curly furred breeds (which are pretty cool. I'd recommend looking them up).
