S: it has been 3 weeks since Lucario moved to the underwater city with his floatzel friend in his home, and even during these 3 weeks the poor lucario still gets scared from time to time and misses the fresh air probably each and every day
Right now, he's just about to wake up to start a new day with his friend, wondering what kind of things are in store for him today
L: The floatzel is just beginning to wake up as well, stretching and smiling at the lucario. "Time to get up, buddy..." He gently pats them to wake them up.
S: the lucario groans a bit before he eventually opens his eyes, smiling back at the floatzel
"Hey buddy...good morning"
he yawns
L: The floatzel pats the lucario's head. "Good morning! How'd you sleep?"
S: the lucario blushes a bit at the head pats
"I slept ok, I hope you slept well"
L: "Yep, same here. Come on, let's go get breakfast." The floatzel gets up out of bed.
S: the lucario sighs, even after the 3 weeks he's lived here he still hasn't managed to eat underwater, he gets up as well, grabbing his goggles and putting them on his forehead for now
L: The floatzel of course doesn't need goggles himself. Over the time the lucario had been living with him, he'd invested in getting some more air-filled spaces, which now included the kitchen he was heading toward, gotten specifically so the lucario wouldn't have to worry as much about potentially eating underwater.
S: "I'm starving..." the lucario noticed the floatzel has gone to the kitchen, he hasn't however, in fact he was actually dreading about going underwater today, he sighs very heavily as he laid back down on the bed
L: Before long, the floatzel realizes he hasn't been followed, and looks back in the bedroom at the lucario. "Come on, you can't just stay in bed all day!"
S: "...I'm sorry bud, I'm just really dreading submerging for some reason, I know you installed more air pockets for me but still, it's stressful"
L: "...Yeah, it's gotta be rough living underwater when you're not a water type..." The floatzel sits next to the lucario on the bed. "I'm sure you'll get used to it someday."
S: "I don't know about that, I always miss the fresh air...I'm tired of breathing through air pockets and I'm starting to hate holding my breath..."
L: "Well, we could always take a trip up to the actual surface, right? Not like that'd be very hard to do."
S: "I suppose your right on that... still, it's driving me nuts... I don't know how I can relax today and go underwater..."
L: "Maybe we just give it some time, first. We don't have to do any diving right away, after all."
S: "But I'm hungry! I can feel my own stomach growling, I need some food..."
L: "Me too, hm... Would just bringing you something be alright? We can figure this out after breakfast."
S: "I guess so...as long as I still get to eat breakfast with you and all... I just don't feel like going underwater right now..."
L: "Alright, I'll be back soon. Hopefully you'll feel better once we're done." The floatzel leaves the room, and before too long, he returns with breakfast for both of them.
S: the lucario smiles a little as he sees his breakfast, he takes his plate and starts to eat the food
"Thanks floatzel..."
L: "No problem." He starts eating as well, trying to think of some way to help the lucario as he does.
S: the lucario tried to relax about submerging as he eats but it doesn't help any
eventually both of them finish their meal
L: The floatzel sets his plate aside. "So... Do you feel any better now?"
S: the lucario does too
"A little bit, now that I've had something to eat, but not that much"
L: "Well, at least it's an improvement... Do you know why you're feeling different about it today?"
S: "I don't know honestly, I just feel...off today... I mean I've been living down here for 3 weeks...and now all of a sudden I don't wanna be underwater"
L: "I wish I understood, but I'm a water type, being underwater a lot is normal to me... Do you think you might just want to move back above the ocean again?"
S: "No way, the perk of living down here is I don't get bullied now... everyone loves me down here, I can't just leave them...but being in the fresh air would be real nice, I do miss it... but if I move back above the water it won't be good for my mental health..."
L: "Right, yeah... I'm not really sure what we can do beyond making a trip to the surface for a while, other than hope this is just a temporary thing."
S: "I guess I'll just have to try and suck it up, as much as I don't want to... ugh! I just don't feel like going underwater at all today...and I don't know what to do"
L: "Unless you want to just stay in here all day, there really isn't much choice, you kind of HAVE to dive in this city..."
S: "Aw man, and I don't wanna be cooped up all day in here... I get bored real easily... guess I have to dive then"
the lucario frowns, tearing up slightly, maybe he'll get lucky and find the Butterfree and Breloom that he helped out, he hasn't seen them since they first met
L: "Well, like always, I'll be right there with you, you've got nothing to worry about. And hey, maybe we'll happen to meet up with one of our friends!"
S: "That's true, I really hope we see those two kids that we met, the butterfree and Breloom, those guys are great...I wonder if they are still over at blastoise's place, their uncle, I haven't seen those two in a while... guess I have to go find out"
L: "Yeah, how about we go visit them today? Hanging out with them for a while might help get your mind off not wanting to be in water."
S: "Hmm, I suppose that's a good idea... I bet that blastoise would be pretty happy to see us, do you even remember where they live?"
L: "I'm pretty sure I do, I don't think we'll have any issues finding them. Want to get going?"
S: the lucario sighs
"As much as I really don't wanna submerge, yeah I guess let's get going..."
L: "Alright, hopefully this'll go okay..." The floatzel starts going for the exit of the air pocket, motioning for the lucario to follow.
S: "Oh boy..." the lucario lowers his goggles over his eyes and follows the floatzel reluctantly
L: The floatzel gets into the water. "Okay, start getting ready." He starts deeply breathing, even though there isn't as much reason for him to do so, being better at breath holding than the lucario.
S: "Fine..." the lucario gets into the water too and does some deep breathing as well
L: Soon, the floatzel feels he's ready and hopes the lucario is as well. "Diving in 3, 2, 1..." He holds his breath and goes under, watching the lucario to see if they do the same.
S: the lucario goes to do the same, but he was hesitant, he didn't dive under and instead just frowns as the floatzel dove down
L: The floatzel surfaces again once he realizes what's happening. "Yeah, figured it wouldn't work the first time..."
S: "Y-y-yeah, I got too scared bud! The first dive of the day is rough for me in general and you know that"
L: "Yep, you do pretty much always have trouble with that... Just try to relax, remember that this is going to be just as safe as always."
S: "I know... but holding your breath is still very scary...if I didn't have to maybe this wouldn't be as bad... but I know that's not gonna happen, so I'm just gonna have to suck it up"
L: "I wish I could afford scuba gear, but refilling it is gonna get expensive quick... Yeah, we really just have to get this over with."
S: "Scuba gear would be sooo nice, then this wouldn't be so bad, but nope...it's just has to be expensive...so fine, let's just go...I wont like it but let's just do it"
L: "Alright, let's get ready again, hopefully it'll go better this time." The floatzel starts preparing for the second time.
S: "I hope so too..." the lucario starts preparing as well for a second time
L: After a bit, the floatzel's ready again. "Second try, here we go... 3, 2, 1..." He dives once again.
S: as much as the lucario doesn't want to, he takes a final deep breath, closing his eyes and dives under finally, whimpering as he does
L: The floatzel smiles at the lucario. "Nice! Easy enblough, right?" He gives the lucario a hug to hopefully calm them down at least a little.
S: "I-i gbluess..." the lucario wasn't sure at all, but he hugs the floatzel back, already looking up at the air he was just in and wanting to go back with how frightened he is
L: "Come on, wble should get going beblfore you end up chblanging your mind." The floatzel starts swimming ahead some, hoping the lucario will follow.
S: the lucario rolls his eyes and follows the floatzel, pinching his nose shut as he's wasting a lot of air as he blows it all out, his face already deeply red, he REALLY doesn't feel like being underwater with all the air he's wasting
L: The floatzel quickly notices all the bubbles. "O-oh jeez, okay, thblis is gonna be a babld one..." He quickly leads the lucario back to the air again.
S: the lucario then gasps for breath once he reaches the air pocket again
"See? I told you I'm not feeling like submerging! And that time I was actually trying!"
L: "Then I don't know what we're going to be able to do. This might end up being a day where we just don't end up leaving..."
S: "Well I still wanted to see those two kids, but now I don't know if I'll have the energy and lungs today to do that..."
well speak of the devil, there's a knock on the floatzel's door, and it's a frantic knock
L: "Oh, hang on, gotta get that." The floatzel dives under and quickly swims to the door to open it.
S: and when he opens it, it's the butterfree and breloom! Both of their faces are turning purple as they badly need air, the butterfree looking at the floatzel desperately
L: The breloom seems like he's just about to panic, covering his mouth.
Floatzel: "Oh! Hblang on, I'll hblelp you guys!" He holds onto both the breloom and the butterfree, spinning his tails to get the two to the air pocket as fast as possible.
S: thankfully they managed to get to the air pocket, where lucario is, he's back on his bed as he hears the heavy gasps from the butterfree and breloom
Butterfree - "Hah....hah....hah...hah, that's the last time I'm getting myself involved in your crazy ideas breloom! Why did you think swimming to the city from the surface was a good idea?! Ugh..."
L: Breloom: "I-I'd just heard... Th-that not many non-water types... H-have ever done that... Wanted to show that we could..." He keeps being interrupted by his gasps.
Floatzel: "You're lucky you didn't drown, that's a REALLY long dive!"
S: Lucario - "Wait, butterfree and breloom? Huh...didn't see that coming... and yeah how did they make it? Jeez..."
Butterfree - "Hah...hah...hah, I'm not diving for a long time after that! I'm so tired..."
L: Breloom: "We just picked a random spot... And happened to end up right in front of here..."
Floatzel: "Well, I guess that's twice now that you guys have come here while really low on breath... Kind of a neat coincidence."
S: Lucario - "I-i see, what are you guys even doing here anyways?"
Butterfree - "Well, me and my brother here were supposed to go visit uncle blastoise, but the line to get to the train was packed! So that's when Breloom had the crazy idea of just swimming down here from the surface...never gonna listen to him again after that...I was really pushed to my limit" butterfree gets out of the water, putting her goggles over her forehead for now
L: Breloom: "I mean, it GOT us down here..." He climbs out as well, taking off his goggles too.
Floatzel: "Still, you should be more careful than that, drowning feels awful..."
S: Lucario - "Y-yeah..."
Butterfree - "We're were too close for comfort back there...anyways, enough about that, how are you guys doing?"
L: Floatzel: "Well, I'M doing alright, but our lucario friend is having a rough start to the day. He's too nervous to really go anywhere underwater."
Breloom: "Aw... I know what that's like, I used to be nervous about water sometimes too..."
S: Butterfree - "Same here... it was tough to get used to, I still get scared from time to time so I get how you feel"
Lucario - "Yeah...I was actually supposed to go see your uncle but my body just refuses to hold it's breath..."
L: Floatzel: "Yeah, this started right when he woke up, and I don't think it's getting better."
Breloom: "There has to be something that'll make you feel better!"
S: Butterfree - "Yeah! I don't want you to be cooped up in here all day! That's no fun!"
Lucario - "I don't know guys..."
L: Breloom: "Come on, just staying inside all day sucks!"
Floatzel: "Yeah, there isn't a whole lot to do around here that doesn't need you to go underwater."
S: "Ugh, but floatzel you saw what happened! My body didn't wanna hold it's breath, I don't wanna risk going down there and drowning!"
L: Floatzel: "I know, but how exactly are we going to help with this? If you just don't want to, I don't see how we can do much about that."
Breloom: "Yeah, this looks like it's gonna be tough..."
S: Butterfree - "Hmm...yeah this is a tricky one... our uncle could probably help you tho, he's the best after all"
Lucario - "Maybe, but honestly I just gotta try again...as much as I don't want to...I don't wanna be stuck here all day"
L: Floatzel: "Another try might do it, yeah. I hope, anyway."
Breloom: "I guess it's worth a shot..."
S: Butterfree - "Yeah! Go for it Lucario! You've got this!"
Lucario - "...fine, I'll try it again I guess...hopefully with more people here I'll actually be able to relax"
L: Floatzel: "I think it'll work better this time!"
Breloom: "Yep, we'll all try to keep you calm!"
S: Butterfree - "Sounds like a plan to me!"
Lucario - "Fine fine" the lucario gets back into the water
L: The breloom gets in again as well, getting his goggles back on.
Floatzel: "Alright, everyone who's doing this, start doing some deep breathing in case this works." He prepares again, as does the breloom.
S: Butterfree - "As much as I wanted a break from diving, I gotta help my friend!" the butterfree gets in the water too, getting her own goggles back on as she starts preparing too, even tho deep down she was nervous herself to go back under after nearly drowning
the lucario sighs and starts to prepare too
L: The breloom is definitely a little bit nervous too, but he tries not to show it.
Finally, it's time once again.
Floatzel: "Okay, here we go again... 3, 2, 1..." He holds his breath and dives, and after a brief moment of hesitation, so does the breloom.
S: after the same hesitation the butterfree holds her own breath and dives too, not wanting her brother to think she was a chicken
the lucario hesitates for a bit longer but eventually he takes a last breath, pinching his nose shut before submerging underwater as well, noticing his friends with him which makes him feel better
L: The floatzel watches the lucario to make sure they're okay. "Okay, we're ablt least hblere again..."
The breloom swims to the lucario to hug them, keeping quiet for now.
S: the butterfree swims over to hug lucario too, also keeping quiet
the lucario stays quiet too for now, hugging the two of them back and slowly calming down, now he's able to keep his air in as less bubbles escape him
L: The floatzel joins in as well. "Looks like thblis might've finally doblne it!"
Breloom: "Mhm!" He nods.
S: Butterfree - "Mhm!" she nods as well, smiling
Lucario - "Ok yblou gblot mble...I feblel betblter nblow...leblts gblo beblfore I chblage my miblnd"
L: Floatzel: "Yep, we'd better geblt going quick." He leads the way outside again, hoping it'll go better this time.
The breloom smiles at the lucario, then lets go to follow the floatzel.
S: the butterfree does the same and follows the floatzel, while the lucario follows closely behind, keeping his nose pinched
L: Soon, the group gets outside. The city hasn't changed a whole lot in the time the lucario had been living there, with water breathers and air breathers alike going about whatever they may be doing.
Floatzel: "So, off to viblsit that blastoise, riblght?"
S: Butterfree - "Ybles!"
Lucario - "I-i gbluess..." the lucario's face turns slightly red
L: Breloom: "Yeblp, deblfinblitebly!"
Floatzel: "Alright! I'm pretty sublre I know hblow to get there frblom hblere." He leads the way through the city, making sure the group never goes all that far from any sort of air source.
S: the lucario starts to whine a little as they get closer to blastoise's place, a bit more bubbles escaping him as he tries to relax
the butterfree does the same thing, trying to keep herself calm
L: The breloom is finally visibly getting nervous, holding his nose as he continues on.
The floatzel looks back at the group. "Everyone still okblay?"
S: Lucario - "N-nblo..." the lucario was very nervous, he doesn't wanna be underwater any longer
Butterfree - "N-noblt rbleally..." the butterfree was just as scared, managing to hold her own nose shut and whimpering as well
L: Breloom: "Nebled aiblr..."
Floatzel: "Okay, there's an aiblr pocket close by, webl'll hblang out there for a biblt." He leads the group to a nearby air pocket, and he and the breloom surface, with the breloom gasping.
S: the lucario and butterfree gasp when they surface too
Lucario - "Phew..."
Butterfree - "Air, thank goodness..."
L: Breloom: "I wish there was more air around this place..."
Floatzel: "Me too, honestly, it's a bit of a pain sometimes... But it's tough for people to bring a lot down here."
S: "There really needs to be more air around here...I'm getting tired of holding my breath so long"
Lucario - "Me too, or they should have scuba gear for first timers in the city...this would solve so many of my problems"
L: Floatzel: "Hopefully at some point they'll make this place better for people that aren't as used to diving..."
Breloom: "That'd be great, we could visit a lot more easily!"
S: Butterfree - "Definitely, we wouldn't have to rely on our lungs if there was scuba gear, even just a rebreather would be nice"
Lucario - "I agree...then living underwater wouldn't be so bad, but breath holding everyday? I don't know if I can tolerate that anymore"
L: Floatzel: "Maybe someday I'll at least be able to invest in a rebreather... But until then, yeah, this is our only real option."
Breloom: "Hopefully it'll get better, yeah..."
S: "Ugh, it's sucks!"
Butterfree- "Yeah same, but anyways...I'm fine now so let's go back under"
L: Floatzel: "Yep, time to get ready again." He starts deeply breathing once more, and so does the breloom.
S: Lucario - "I don't wanna...but fine" the lucario and butterfree start to deeply breathe too
L: Soon, the floatzel and breloom are ready again.
Floatzel: "Alright, and 3, 2, 1..." He and the breloom dive.
S: both the butterfree and lucario look at each other briefly before taking a last breath and diving back under, with lucario pinching his nose shut again
L: The floatzel gives the lucario a nod, glad they've gone back under without any fuss, and he resumes leading the way as the breloom follows.
S: but a minute into their swim, the lucario stops, he starts to whine even tho he's not low on breath at all, it seems breath holding is starting to take a toll on him mentally, blowing out air through his mouth a bit as he continues whimpering and whining
L: The floatzel looks back at the lucario, hearing their whining. "I know you hblate this today... Bublt we should be getblting fairly close now."
S: the butterfree looks back too, frowning as she hears the lucario whine
Lucario- "I cblant tblake it anyblmore!!" he starts to tear up visibly
L: The floatzel stops and goes over to the lucario. "It'll be okblay, we'll get to thble blastoise's place anbld we can just reblax for a while..."
The breloom comes over as well, hugging the lucario. "Yeblp, hble'll ble able tblo chbleer yoblu ublp!"
S: the butterfree goes over to hug the lucario too
Butterfree - "Ybleah hebl's thble beblst!"
the lucario sighs out some bubbles as he hugs the two of them back, still quite upset mentally, but he knows the blastoise's place is close by so he'll just have to suck it up for the rest of the trip, as much as he doesn't wanna
L: Floatzel: "Come on, we shblouldn't wait too long whblile we're underwater."
The breloom nods, and starts following the floatzel again.
S: the lucario rolls his eyes before he eventually starts to follow again as well, hoping it won't take too much longer
the butterfree stays with lucario the rest of the way to make sure he's ok
L: It takes about a minute more, but the blastoise's house does come into view.
Floatzel: "Just about there, jublst hblang in there!"
S: the lucario keeps whining but he keep following them, eventually they finally reach blastoise's house, with the butterfree knocking on the door
L: Before long, the door opens, and sure enough, it's the blastoise! "Hello- Oh, it's you! And Breloom, too! I certainly didn't expect you two!" He swims out to hug both the butterfree and the breloom.
Breloom: "Hbli, unblcle Blblastbloisble!"
S: Butterfree - "Unblcle blblastoblsie!!!" she hugs him back
Lucario - "H-hbli..." the lucario is clearly still upset and wants to get fresh air soon
L: Blastoise: "Right, you're all probably wanting some air. Come in, there's an air pocket close by!" He heads back in, and the floatzel and breloom follow.
S: the lucario and butterfree follow, and soon all of them get to a large air pocket, as they surface lucario gasps for breath and hops onto a ledge to get out of the water, putting his goggles away
L: The breloom takes off his goggles as well. "Butterfree and I felt like visiting you! We tried to swim straight down to you, but we were pretty far off... And we barely made it down, too."
Blastoise: "Oh man, really? There's transport down here for a reason, you know..."
Floatzel: "Yeah, I had a bit of a talk to them about that before we came over."
S: the butterfree takes off her goggles too and giggles nervously
Butterfree - "Y-yeah, but we're also hoping you would help us out, lucario has been feeling really upset lately"
Lucario - "Uh huh..."
L: Floatzel: "Yeah, he's REALLY not enjoying needing to swim today."
Blastoise: "Well, that sucks, especially with you living down here... Are you sure you actually want to stay?"
S: "I don't know... I know if I go back to the surface and move back then I'll just get bullied again, but at the same time, breath holding is taking a toll on me mentally, so I'm kind of in a very complex situation now..."
L: Blastoise: "Hm, this is tough..."
Floatzel: "I wish I knew how to help, but I have no idea."
Breloom: "Maybe you'll just feel better eventually, Lucario?"
S: Butterfree - "Yeah...maybe it's just this one day"
Lucario - "I don't know honestly, I really don't...I swear if only I had a rebreather then I wouldn't have to hold my breath all day...but of course it has to be hard to get and all...so I don't know what to do"
L: Blastoise: "A rebreather would work, huh? I WAS actually thinking about getting one for a while now... Well, you're a friend, so once I get one I'll let you borrow it every now and then!"
Floatzel: "Well, that's at least better than nothing!"
S: "Yeah, anything to not have to hold my breath all the time... I kind of wish I had that now tho...I'm not in any mood to go back underwater, like at all"
L: Blastoise: "You can hang out here for a while, but I'm planning on going somewhere later, so you'll have to go at that point."
S: "Awww man... I don't wanna go back under" the lucario is clearly frustrated
Butterfree - "Poor guy..." the butterfree goes over to whisper to floatzel
"If only he had someone else that he likes being around that lives underwater to comfort him everyday, cause I don't think all of us is gonna help anymore with how upset he is..."
L: The floatzel whispers back, "I don't know who we could get for that, though... The only person I can think of is Kyogre, and I doubt they'd be open to just hanging out..."
Breloom: "We'll figure something out, Lucario... It might just take a while..."
S: the butterfree keeps whispering to floatzel
"Well you could ask him, like just tell him what pokemon would make you feel most comfortable living down here and see if you can find them, it's worth a shot"
Lucario - "I don't want it to take a while!"
L: Floatzel, whispering again: "May as well try, yeah..." He turns to the lucario, talking normally. "Hey, this'll sound kind of random, but... Is there any Pokemon you think would be able to help you feel more comfortable down here?"
S: "...that is quite the random question, but I guess of a pokemon could keep me relaxed then an Umbreon, I really like those guys and they are my favorite overall, they are just cool and chilled"
L: Floatzel: "Alright, thanks. Um... I'm gonna need to go for a little while. Are you alright to stay here?" He plans to leave only for long enough to find an umbreon, then return.
Blastoise: "I definitely wouldn't mind keeping you company."
Breloom: "Same here!"
S: the butterfree knows what the floatzel is up to, and wants to help, so she looks up at him with a nod
Lucario - "Oh, well...ok then...but be back soon"
actually, the time has come for blastoise to leave as he noticed the clock, which struck the specific time he needed to go without him realizing
L: Blastoise: "Oh jeez, I totally lost track of time, I'm gonna be late if I don't head out now! Sorry, Lucario, but I guess you can't wait here after all."
S: "...are you SERIOUS?!?! Come on!!! No, I refuse to move!"
Butterfree - "You gotta go already uncle blastoise? Aw man... guess me and breloom have to go too... that's why we were here and if our parents found out we weren't here because of uncle blastoise then they would get mad so it's best for us to leave..."
L: The breloom sighs. "Alright... At least we got to see you, uncle Blastoise..."
Floatzel: "Come on, Lucario, you might end up getting in trouble if you stay here now..."
S: Lucario- "I don't care! I'm not moving from this spot, period!"
Butterfree - "Oh boy...well, that's our cue to leave, come on breloom let's get outta here, good luck lucario" the butterfree puts on her goggles again and takes a single deep breath before diving underwater, already swimming out of blastoise's house
L: Breloom: "Yeah, hope it goes okay for you." He also puts on his goggles, then holds his breath and follows the butterfree out.
Blastoise: "Look, Lucario and Floatzel, I don't mean any offence, but I don't trust you enough to leave you alone in my house. You have to go."
Floatzel: "Lucario, this REALLY isn't the time to have this issue... Let's just go find a nearby air pocket outside, alright?"
S: Lucario - "I said no!! I refuse to go back underwater! My lungs have had enough!" the lucario was deeply upset now, still being defiant
L: The blastoise sighs. "Am I going to have to drag you out of here? I don't want to, but I'll do it if I have to."
S: "N-no, I don't want you to drag me underwater! That'll scare me more! Ugh...I don't wanna dive! I don't wanna dive!" the lucario sighs heavily then puts on his goggles again, knowing he has to dive and gets into the water again
"L-lets just go before I have an emotional meltdown floatzel..."
L: Floatzel: "Yeah, and before Blastoise gets any more mad, too..." He gets into the water as well, and so does the blastoise, watching the two to make sure they leave.
S: "I didn't mean to make him mad!"
the lucario just takes a single deep breath, tearing up as he does before diving under, escaping blastoise's house, thankfully there was an air pocket just a few feet away from his house so he went there and goes up to it, gasping in the air
L: The floatzel quickly follows, and so does the blastoise, both of them getting to the air pocket as well.
Blastoise: "Alright, glad you at least got here. I'll see you again sometime, I really have to get going now." He dives again, swimming away.
Floatzel: "Well, now we've got more time to help you calm down..."
S: "Aw man... and you still have to go too? I don't wanna be all lonely...I guess that would mean I would have to tag along with you huh?"
actually, while the floatzel was swimming over, he caught a glimpse of an umbreon nearby that could potentially help out the lucario, so if he hurries up he could catch them
L: "Sorry, just hang on a minute, I'll be right back." The floatzel dives, swimming toward the umbreon.
S: "Wait! Ugh..." the lucario sighs heavily as the floatzel left, hoping it won't actually take that long
a few minutes go by as the lucario in the air pocket gets more frustrated and sad the more time goes by, however it shouldn't take too much longer
L: The floatzel finally returns to the air pocket. "Alright, sorry about that! Just happened to see someone I think you'll want to meet..."
Shortly after that, the umbreon that the floatzel had noticed before surfaces alongside the two with a gasp!
S: the lucario's mouth drops open as he notices the umbreon
"Excuse me what?? Is that an UMBREON?!?!?"
L: Umbreon: "Woah, you weren't kidding, he really DOES like umbreons..." She smiles at the lucario.
Floatzel: "Yep! This is what I was referring to before, Lucario, I wanted to find an umbreon for you!"
S: this is the first time in a long time that the lucario is actually very giddy, he couldn't believe that there was an umbreon right here, getting closer to her with a big smile
"Omg omg omg...this can't be! I didn't know umbreons live underwater!"
L: Umbreon: "Well, moved here not too long ago, I've been here about a week now. Let me tell you, it's been a bit tough to get used to doing so much swimming!"
S: "Yeah, tell me about it...I've been down here for 3 weeks, and breath holding is taking a toll on me, but I have to stay here otherwise I would just get bullied if I was on the surface again, what made you wanna come down here umbreon?"
L: "I just really like being underwater and wanted to get a lot of practice holding my breath, and living down here is pretty much the best to do that."
Floatzel: "Yep, that's a good portion of my reason for coming here too."
S: "I see... well I'm starting to not like being underwater, in fact the first time I came down here I was terrified... but now that I've been down here for so long it's getting harder and harder for me to stay here...it's taking a toll on me mentally..."
L: Umbreon: "Aw, that sucks, I really hope I don't end up feeling that way myself... And I hope you end up feeling better at some point, too."
S: "I really don't like it at all, I always get super stressed now when I hold my breath, I was fine the first 3 weeks, but now it's really taking a toll on me mentally...and I hate it!"
L: Floatzel: "I've been trying all day to help him, but nothing's worked. I was hoping you'd somehow be able to help."
Umbreon: "Well, I'll at least try..." She gives the lucario a hug.
S: the lucario blushes just a tad at the umbreon's hug, and he slowly hugs her back
"Thank you umbreon... I've never gotten a hug from an umbreon and this feels nice..."
L: Umbreon: "You're welcome... I'm free to stick around with you for most of today, so hopefully you'll be feeling better by then."
S: "Well thanks... honestly I've got no energy in me to go back underwater... I just really don't..."
L: Umbreon: "We can just stay here for a while then, that's fine with me."
Floatzel: "Same here, I don't really mind that."
S: "Alright then... maybe your presence will help me out...that's at least what I'm hoping for"
L: Umbreon: "Hopefully that'll be enough, yeah."
Floatzel: "Hope it doesn't get too boring being in here..."
S: "I mean I'm already bored... but anything to stay out of the water... I don't wanna be cooped up all day in here tho... I know eventually I'll have to dive, so maybe I just get it over with"
L: Umbreon: "We should try that, maybe me being here will make you feel better about that."
Floatzel: "Worth a shot, right?"
S: "I suppose so, I did say I really liked umbreons for a reason, and your no question, heh... so it's worth a try"
L: Umbreon: "Alright, let's see if this works." She starts deeply breathing, though the floatzel doesn't this time.
S: the lucario puts his goggles back on and takes deep breathes too, this time he hugs the umbreon while he's deeply breathing to hopefully calm himself down
L: The umbreon has goggles of her own already on, and she hugs the lucario back. "Ready whenever you are."
Floatzel: "I'm good to go, too."
S: "Your goggles look good on you... anyways, I think I'm ready, but do the diving, I'll hold onto you and keep hugging you while you dive, cause I know at this point I probably won't be able to dive on my own anymore today"
L: Umbreon: "Okay then, deep breath!" She holds her breath and starts to dive under, with the floatzel doing the same.
S: the lucario whines a little but he eventually holds his own breath and letting himself get pulled under, he puffs up his cheeks as he continues to whine a little
L: The group goes fully underwater once more. The umbreon's cheeks are puffed too, and she hugs the lucario again, trying to help him not panic. The floatzel quickly joins in on the hug.
S: the lucario hugs both of them back, he's feeling just a bit better now with both of them by his side
L: Floatzel: "Well, it seems liblke you're at least dobling a little better noblw..."
Umbreon: "Dblo yoblu thblink yoblu'd ble able tblo swblim soblme obln yoblur owbln?"
S: "Nblo..." even tho the lucario was feeling better, he wanted to stick close to his two buddies no matter what, it was the only thing keeping him sane
L: Floatzel: "Kind of figured... Hblow about we at leblast try swimming together?"
The umbreon nods in agreement.
S: "O-oblk..." the lucario was on board with that at least, if they were together then he'll feel much better
L: The floatzel and umbreon start to slowly swim with the lucario, each one holding one of the lucario's hands.
S: slowly but surely, the lucario is feeling better as they finally start swimming, tiny bubbles leaving his nostrils as they swim
L: Glad that the lucario finally seems to be doing better, the floatzel smiles at them.
While the umbreon hadn't seen just how bad it'd been, she's happy he doesn't look quite as nervous as well.
S: but a few minutes later, the lucario starts getting more nervous as they kept swimming along, he glances up towards the surface and yelps in fear with how deep he is, even tho he's been this deep for 3 weeks already
L: The floatzel pats the lucario's head. "It's going to be okblay... Do you want a brbleak to go breathe?"
S: the lucario's eyes go wide at the promise of getting to breathe, he nods his head as he more bubbles escape from him, really getting worried now
L: Floatzel: "Alright, let's hblead over to an aiblr pocket." He leads the group to another air pocket - thankfully close by - and they all surface inside.
Umbreon: "Well, I don't exactly know how bad it was earlier, but you don't seem to be doing so bad now!"
S: the lucario gasps for air once he surfaces inside the air pocket
"It was definitely much worse before, so your presence is actually helping me relax a bit more, I honestly just wanna do something fun to take my mind off this whole thing"
L: Umbreon: "Something fun, hm... Maybe we could go get a snack of some kind?"
The floatzel shakes his head. "No, he hates eating underwater, that won't really work."
S: "I tried it once and I couldn't do it, couldn't even open my mouth to eat it, so yeah that's out of the question... that'll just make me more stressed"
L: Umbreon: "Alright, something else then... I haven't been here as long as you two, I don't really know the city that well..."
Floatzel: "And I don't really have any ideas..."
S: "Come on! There's gotta be something fun to do in this city! Maybe sports like a bowling alley or something, you know that actually does sound fun...I do like bowling... I was even in a league at one point"
L: Umbreon: "Oh, I like bowling too! We should do that!"
Floatzel: "Alright, perfect! That's what we'll do, then!"
S: "A-alright then!" the lucario was a bit more excited now that he's gonna go bowling
"Is there even a bowling alley underwater?"
L: Umbreon: "I feel like the resistance from the water would make it kind of tough to do in a normal way..."
Floatzel: "I do know there's at least one bowling alley in the city, so they must have found some way for it to work. Maybe it's in a place that doesn't have water in it?"
S: "I guess that's possible but, we won't know until we check it out, and I'm actually rather curious if they found a way to make it underwater or if it's just above the water"
L: Floatzel: "The one I know isn't all that far from here, I've just never been inside. We'll all find out together!"
Umbreon: "Guess that does mean more swimming... But maybe that'll be it for a while."
S: "Well, maybe I'll be worth it then....I'm feeling comfortable with you umbreon, your really helping me out with your presence being here and such"
L: Umbreon: "Glad I can help! Now, we'd better start getting ready again..." She starts deeply breathing, while the floatzel skips out on that again, confident he'll be fine.
S: "Floatzel you should do it too...you know I don't like seeing you push yourself and what if the bowling alley is all underwater?" the lucario then starts deeply breathing too
L: Floatzel: "Right, yeah, just in case... Although I think we'll be having bigger issues if it's underwater..." He joins in on properly getting ready for the dive.
S: "Eh I don't know actually, bowling balls are heavy, so maybe I'll all work naturally? Guess we won't know till we get there"
the lucario keeps deeply breathing
L: Floatzel: "Yep, we'll just have to see... Alright, 3, 2, 1..." He dives, and so does the umbreon.
S: the lucario takes a final breath before diving back underwater as well, feeling a little less afraid now as he pinches his nose shut
L: Holding the lucario's hand again just in case he still wants that, the floatzel leads the group along toward where he knows the bowling alley is.
S: the lucario stays relaxed pretty much the whole way there with umbreon and the floatzel by his side
L: Thankfully it only takes one dive to get to the bowling alley... Which seems from outside to still be mainly underwater.
Umbreon: "Hbluh... Ibl woblndeblr hblow thblis ibls gobling tblo woblrk..."
S: "Iblts all unblderwater?? Gblreat..." the lucario rolls his eyes, but he is glad he prepared himself, and he is curious as to how this all works
L: Floatzel: "Well, let's head in and see what it's like..." He leads the group inside. There's air pockets at least, but oddly, where the lanes would be is instead just a large hole...
A nearby sign has an explanation: "Those who are more familiar with how bowling normally works, it's different underwater: Instead of rolling a ball, you drop it into a hole that acts as a lane, trying to hit pins that are lightly magnetized to the side of said hole."
Umbreon: "Oblh, thblat's abl neblat wably tblo mablke iblt woblrk hblere!"
S: "Thblats kinblda of lablme...rolbling thble babll doblwn thble lanble ibls pablrt of thble fubln! Ublgh, I doblnt thblink I'm gblonna liblke thblis...leblts gblet oubltta hblere..." the lucario was clearly frustrated that it's not even normal bowling, which is what he originally thought was gonna happen with the lightly magnetized pins as the sign mentioned
L: Floatzel: "...Yeah, that doesn't reblally sound as fun... Mablybe we can find an albley that does it moblre like normal somehblow."
Umbreon: "Yeblah, itbl's abl clbleveblr idblea, bublt reblgulblar boblwliblng ibls prblobably stblill bebltteblr."
S: "Hopblefully wble fiblnd a boblwling allbley thblat is noblrmal...mayble thblere onble cloblse by"
L: Floatzel: "They might hblave some kind of deblal with another one, yeblah. Alright, let's go chbleck." He leads the group back out, and sure enough, there's another bowling alley not too far. "Yep, there we gblo."
S: "Oh niblce, hblopfully thblis onble is norblmal..."
L: And, thankfully, it is! Through some method or another, it's clear that the bowling balls are rolling exactly like they would on land, and aside from being underwater - with air pockets again - it just looks like a typical bowling alley.
Umbreon: "Thblere wble gblo! Leblt's geblt soblme aiblr anbld thblen geblt stblartbled!"
S: "Noblw thblats whblat I'm tblalking aboublt! Riblght lblets gblo breablthe thebln havble somble reblal fubln!"
L: Everyone heads to the closest air pocket to catch their breath.
Floatzel: "It's been a pretty long time since I've done any bowling, this is gonna be great!"
Umbreon: "I've been kind of missing it too, yeah!"
S: as the lucario catches his breath he smirks slightly
"Yeah it's been forever since I've bowled too, I haven't bowled since I was a riolu, but I'm sure my skills are still sharp enough to beat you both! Hehehe..."
L: Floatzel: "Heh, we'll just see about that..."
Umbreon: "Just because I don't have hands doesn't mean I can't beat you two!"
S: "Oh please! Hehe! Come on! Let's head back down already and get ourselves a lane!" the lucario starts to take some deep breathes
L: Floatzel: "Yep, let's get on with it!" He and the umbreon start deeply breathing as well.
S: eventually, everyone takes a last breath before submerging back underwater, the lucario was at least a bit more happy now that he's gonna be having fun
they swim up to a register so they can get a lane, the worker there which is a Shiny Wartortle noticed the three of them and smiles, and can seemingly talk clearly underwater
Shiny Wartorle - "Welcome to the underwater bowling lanes! How can I help you?"
L: Umbreon: "Webl're hblere tblo plblay abl roblund."
Floatzel: "Yep, we'll all ble taking turns on thble same lane."
S: Lucario - "Mmhm!"
Shiny Wartortle - "Great! You're lucky, today I'm feeling awfully nice so you can have a lane for free, just don't tell my boss...hehe! Anyways, you guys are on lane 17, I'll boot the system up so you can import your names and such"
L: Floatzel: "Oh sweet, thanks! Coblme on, guys!" He leads the group over to lane 17, where he and the umbreon enter their names.
S: Lucario - "Coblol thblanks!"
Shiny Wartortle - "Have fun!"
the lucario enters his name too, the order of names is floatzel is first, followed by lucario and umbreon, the pins light up and are ready to be knocked down!
L: Floatzel: "Alright, let's do thblis!" He picks up the ball and rolls it down, managing to get every pin but 1 the first time, then getting that last one on the second go. "Okay, decent stblart."
S: "Almblost a stblike! At leblast yblou gblot a spblare! Mbly tublrn nblow"
the lucario swims forward and grabs a ball, he rolls it down the lane and gets a strike right there!
"Ybles!!! Ivble stblill gblot iblt!"
L: Umbreon: "Gubless I'vble reblallbly goblt tblo tablke thblis seblriobluslbly, thblen..." She grabs a ball and rolls it, getting a strike as well!
S: "Whblat?!?! Yblou gblot a stblike tbloo?! Oblh heblck nblo..."
L: Floatzel: "Looks like it miblght end up being bebltween you two..." He goes another round, but only manages to get 7 pins in total. "Yep, sure seblems like it."
S: "Nblot babld! Mbly tublrn!"
the lucario picks up another ball and rolls it down, getting another strike! Two in a row!
"Awbl yeblah!! Lblets gblo!"
L: Umbreon: "Oblh, niblce! Hblopeblfulbly I'lbl mabltch thblat..." She does her next rolls, and ends up with a spare. "Webll, clblose ablt leblast."
S: "Sblo cloblse! Oblh webll! Heblhe!" the lucario's face was red from the talking, so he quickly goes over to surface in the air pocket above them before coming back down
L: The umbreon heads up to breathe as well, then returns.
The game goes on, with the lucario and umbreon staying just about evenly matched while the floatzel's score slowly falls behind. And, finally, it's the lucario's last turn.
Floatzel: "Man, it's really coblming down to it..."
S: "Yblour nblot gblonna beblat mble umbblreon! Grrblr!" the lucario throws his ball and gets a strike thankfully for his final turn
"Heblck yblea! Nblo shblot!"
L: Umbreon: "Webl'll jublst seble ablout thblat..." She gives it her last go... And gets a spare, losing by just 1 point! "Arblgh, sblo clblose!"
S: "Yebls! I wblon!!! Leblts gblo!" the lucario does a flip in the water, giggling out bubbles happily
L: Floatzel: "At least I dibld alright..."
Umbreon: "Yeblp, yoblu dibldn't enbld ublp THBLAT fablr beblhblind. Bublt, mabln..."
S: "Hblehe!!! Tobld ybla...I wabls on a lbleague fblor a reablson! Thblat feblt gblood!"
L: Umbreon: "Webll, yoblu're deblfinblitebly loblokiblng liblke yoblu're febleliblng abl loblt bebltteblr noblw!"
Floatzel: "Yeah, I think thblat game might hblave solved our problem!"
S: "Yblou whblat yblour riblght! I dblo feblel a loblt bebltter! Thblanks gbluys!"
after a bit, the trio exits the bowling alley, it was getting fairly late in the day as well, it was already 8pm!
L: Umbreon: "Oblh, itbl's geblttiblng lablte... Ibl'm goblnna hblave tblo geblt gobling."
Floatzel: "Well, thanks for thble hblelp with Lucario!"
S: "Wblait!!! Dblont gblo! Yblour thble onbly reblason whbly I wblas sblo cablm tbloday!"
L: Floatzel: "I do remember hbler saying she'd eventually hblave to get going..."
Umbreon: "I'lbl stblill ble arblounbld ibln thble ciblty, wble cabln meblet ublp agblain tomblorrblow!" She gives the lucario one last hug.
S: "Ablw mabln..." the lucario was clearly feeling sad, he liked umbreon... but he just gave her a hug back, savoring it as well as he tears up
L: Umbreon: "Ibl'm frblee albl oblf toblmorblrow, sblo wble cabln hblave moblre fubln togblethbler thblen, alblrigblht?"
S: "F-fiblne... I'm jblust gblonna miblss yblou..." the lucario keeps hugging her for a while until she eventually let's go, understanding that she has to go
L: The umbreon gives him a smile and a wave, before swimming off.
Floatzel: "I'm glad you mablnaged to hblave fun today after albl."
S: the lucario waves goodbye too sadly
"Ybleah...I hblad a toblatal blblast... mayblbe...liblving doblwn hblere wonblt be sblo babld aftbler ablll...anyblways, I'm exhaublsted, leblts gblo to bebld"
L: "Yeah, I'm pretty tiblred after all that too... And I'm sublre you're looking forward to gebltting out of the water agblain!"
S: "YEBLS!!! Veblry mublch sblo...racble ya homble!" the lucario zooms off towards their house, his face was fully red but he didn't care
L: The floatzel laughs and follows them. To keep it fair, he doesn't spin his tails, just swimming like the lucario is.
S: the lucario gets there first, laughing out bubbles as he does, after the floatzel gets there too the lucario goes up to the bedroom, gasping in air at the air pocket and drying himself off before setting his goggles down on the nightstand and getting into bed
"I beat you! Hehe! But man, this has been a day, can't wait to get some Zs..."
L: The floatzel dries off as well, getting in bed next to the lucario. "Ah well, it was fairly close at least. And yeah, definitely need this after all that happened today..."
S: "Yep...so, goodnight my friend"
and so, both the lucario and floatzel fell asleep together after a long day, and it appear lucario is slowly getting better at living underwater, little by little
