Kirle slumped on the park bench, his bushy tail flicking irritably as he glared at the ground. Note sat beside him, his golden eyes sparkling with amusement. The afternoon sun filtered through the trees, casting speckled light on them.

"I'm serious, Note," Kirle grumbled, his ears flattening against his head. "It was the worst day of my life. I spilled coffee all over my favourite shirt, then I tripped on my tail while trying to clean it up in front of other people in the cafe. Then it rained when I walked back home. Like, what is even life right now?!"

Note tried to keep a straight face, he really did. But the moment Kirle mentioned tripping over his tail, a snort escaped him. And by the time Kirle mentioned about the rain, Note was doubled over, his laughter was ringing out across the park. His eyes were squeezed shut, his muzzle wide open as he cackled, his tail swishing wildly behind him.

Kirle shot him a look, his sunset eyes narrowing. "Oh sure, laugh it off. It's not like my life was falling apart or anything."
Note wiped a tear from his eye, still grinning. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he gasped between laughs. "It's just.. you tripped over your own tail? Kirle, that's the most *you* thing I've ever heard."

Kirle crossed his arms, his frown deepening. "You're the worst, you know that?"

Note finally managed to catch his breath, though a few stray chuckles escaped him. "C'mon Kirle," he said, nudging the puppy with his elbow. "You gotta admit, it's kinda funny. Besides, bad days make for good stories. And trust me, this is gonna be a classic!'
Kirle groaned, trying to lean back, "You're impossible."

Note grinned, his tail wagging and curling around Kirle's in a playful gesture, "Yeah, but you love me anyway."

Kirle rolled his eyes, but the corner of his muzzle twitched, betraying the faintest hint of a smile. "Unfortunately."
