In the Movie Cannonball Run Burt Reynolds & Don Deluise come up with an idea to win the Cannonball Run and in order to avoid the Highway Patrol by pretending be Paramedics driving in an Ambulance across the country since Ambulances have been known to have the right of way around traffic and can take patients to the next Hospital across county lines.
Fun fact: there were so many people that was inspired by the first cannonball run movie that they have made the replicas of the ambulance & have attempted the run, their is a video on YouTube that goes into further detail on what happened on those runs.
