Tik tak…Tik Tak…The continuous sound of a keyboard being typed on is all that could be heard in the bedroom of fourteen-year-old Brad. He sighed as he saved the file he just finished.
“Just one more chapter to go…Seriously paying for twenty chapters? Make me work my ass off…” Brad leaned back, his diaper crinkling a bit. He had become an author at a young age and thus stayed at home to write and get homeschooled. Somehow, he fell into fascination with diapers and eventually got approval to wear them 24/7. He stretched and got ready to continue as his computer started to glitch a bit. He sighed, he was glad he saved the story but before he could hard reboot, words popped up.
“Y O U A R E C H O S E N.”
“Chosen?” Brad scratched the side of his head as the computer began to glow a bright light, before Brad knew it, he was sucked in, along with his cell phone. All Brad could remember was a cold wind before blacking out.
Sanake was sitting at home with their mom, they were eating a cheese pizza as they watched their show. As the DVD ended Sanake moved their plate to the side as they got up.
“I’ll refill our drinks, hun.” Sanake’s mom patted their head.
“Sounds good, thanks mom. I’ll get the next DVD set up.” As Sanake scoured the DVD collection the TV went static. Sanake looked at it.
“Mom…Why is the TV static?”
“What do you mean? It’s normal to me.” Sanake blinked and saw words on it.
“S H E C A N N O T S E E.
Y O U A R E C H O S E N.”
As soon as the words ended, the tv began glowing brightly, nearly blinding Sanake and their mom. Sanake’s last moment of clarity was seeing a gray sky before their vision went black.
Sanake’s mom was lucky to have not had a drink in her hands, as she slumped to her knees.
“Sanake…Honey…? Where…Where did my baby go…” She let out a shaky moan of disdain, with no idea where Sanake had disappeared off to by the TV.
Anthony sighed as he checked his phone. No reply, he had messaged Brad a good 45 minutes ago, and usually Brad replied quickly. If Brad was working on a story, he’d reply ‘story work’ from his quick selection, but it was weird as Anthony hadn’t gotten any quick reply or even a ‘can’t deliver’ message, if Brad was on Do not disturb. Anthony sighed and laid his head on his pillow. He was going to tell Brad how boring school had been. Anthony’s phone dinged, and as he picked it up, he saw it was an email. It said ‘Open now.’
“Geez…Spam? Ugh…Hm…? I am chosen…?” Anthony’s phone began to glow. “WHAT THE!?” As Anthony dropped the phone, his sister and brother rushed over and saw Anthony basically enter his phone by being sucked in. Anthony landed in what he could only describe as snow. He saw the white horizon and gray sky before passing out.
“What…Richard what just happened to our brother?!”
“He…His phone sucked him in…”
“…Grandma and Grandpa are going to go ballistic…Oh this is NOT good.” The two looked at each other and grabbed Anthony’s phone, plugging it in so it didn’t die on them and started to discuss how to explain it.
At her house, a girl had some ramen noodles in her mouth, chopsticks in one hand as her game was in a cutscene. Her name was Summer, and her diaper was already tinted yellow a bit, but nowhere in range to be changed.
“Mmm…Long cutscenes…Nearly done with this game…” Summer’s game had two piles, ones she completed and ones she was working on. She had a pile in her completed of games she’d replay when she needed something she can replay for fun. As she finished her noodles and put the cup and chopsticks aside her game started to flicker, with the same words coming up.
“Chosen? What, am I chosen to get another game?” Summer chuckled to herself as the TV began to glow. “WAIT WHERE ARE WE—” Summer’s controller dropped onto her chair as the game finished the cutscene, the ‘save?’ option on screen. For Summer, her vision went black as soon as she was pulled in.
A deaf boy named Char was typing to his friends on the computer, his language barrier was due to knowing words from ASL, and while some got annoyed there were many who accepted Char’s way of speaking and did their best to communicate well. Char stretched before words appeared.
“Chosen? Me? What that mean?” Before Char could get an answer, he was sucked in by the TV. On top of that, his pants fell off and were left behind, leaving him landing, unconscious, with their diaper on full display.
In her room, in the dark room not a single sound was heard. A girl with black hair, part of it covering one eye was standing at her window, which was wide open.
“I have no worth…No meaning, I am not wanted…Just take the plunge, come on Dolores…Just…Once…Take control!” Dolores put her feet on top of the windowsill. She pushed off and as she did, a portal appeared.
“What the…” Dolores entered the portal, having no control of her path as she was falling from the third story. The portal closed as she entered, Dolores felt her feet land in a snowy area, she wasn’t feeling cold, she attributed that to her heart that had frozen over years ago. She saw a building and began to walk towards it, hoping to figure out where she was now.
Aino was in the backseat as her parents drove. She had just had dinner with them for acing her exams. Aino didn’t really care for the exams or classes, but she knew acing them and doing well could get her into a college so she could become an attorney. Before she could return to the conversation her parents were having, a screech was heard as her dad tried to swerve to avoid a car, but instead the cars collided head on. With a loud CRASH she was laying outside the car. She struggled to see as her vision was blurry, she could make out her parents bodies lying on the street, blood oozing out. She didn’t need to even think, she knew, they were dead. She wanted to scream but heard a voice.
“T H I S I S T R A G I C. B U T Y O U H A V E A N E W P A T H. E N T E R Y O U N G O N E.” Aino saw a portal open up near her. She struggled, barely able to crawl or move at all. She reached forward and as soon as her hand touched the portal, she saw the world go white and felt all her physical pain disappear. She was in a field facing a forest full of snow. She shakily stood up.
“Mom…Dad…I’ll return and if your killer isn’t caught, I will find a way to bring them to justice. Please God…Let them rest peacefully, let them know I am safe.” Aino wiped her tears and walked into the forest. She gripped her knife in her pocket, a gift from her dad that she always carried, especially for protection.
The eighth person was walking to her locker the next morning, She yawned and was confused as she didn’t see a few people she usually saw early on. She went to her locker and no one was nearby, which was fine by her. As she opened it and moved her bag to store a few of her extra diapers for changes into the locker, she was blinded by a light as she got pulled in, the locker slamming shut and closed. Stoneth, as she was known, fell in front of a building.
“Ow ow ow…”
“I see you arrived. We were told you’d be here.”
“Tch, I wish I knew she’d be wearing those garments. Oh well. Come on, Monzaemon is waiting for everyone.” Stoneth blinked and saw a yellow fox standing, her arms crossed while a small purple imp creature with a grinning smile face on it’s stomach and a red bandana was sitting on the steps to the building. The fox held her hand out.
“I am Renamon, and you are Impmon and my tamer.” Stoneth blinked before falling back and blacking out. These eight children were about to embark on a giant journey to save the digital world and their world.
