The pencil sketchiness, the lined notebook paper, a map and list of inventory items - it all feels so adventurous, like a kid who wants to go explore the world and discover things.

Everything has texture and grit (map trees are awesome), and especially love that scruffy smug cub face - really dig your eyes and teeth stylization!
